2. Process
I used a website called beep box to make our
sound effects and background music. I used the
smallest squares possible as I feel it adds suspense
as there are lots of sharps spikes that would keep
the customer on their toes and aware all the time.
this will appeal to my audience as there will
already be some suspense in the game but raising
the tension in the game will give the players more
adrenaline which will spur them to play the game
more. As the music goes through the song, the
notes get lower which connotes that the game is
going to get harder for the player, and that in war
time the deeper you go into the warzone there is
more tension circling around as there are more
enemies.
3. Process
• I like my loading screen as It has the
characters of my game on the front.
They’re dressed in their war uniforms so
it suggests to the audience at first glance
that it is a combat game which is very
appealing to my audience. The colours of
green and red are symbols of good and
evil, this clearly shows that the two
colours are enemies so straight away the
customer knows there will be conflict in
the game. Having a loading screen makes
the game look more professional as there
more effort put into it showing the
customer that the content will be better
making them want to play it more.
Having a loading screen also gives the
player time to prepare for the game
rather than just jumping straight in and
them getting confused and not wanting
to play on.
4. Process
• Although the background is vey
plain and limited I didn’t want to
make it so there was too much in
the background taking away the
focus of the character. If I had more
time I would have added in more of
a background into the game but just
before the deadline my game file
was corrupted so I had to start again
leaving me no time to make the
background. I made sure there was
barriers for the character to hide
behind so that the background is
interactive with the character
creating more realistic and fun
effects for the player. I used dark
colours to express the war as
wartime was not a nice place to be,
it would look unnatural if I were to
use pinks and oranges to make the
background. Players like to be able
to fell like they're in the game so
they can experience it more, that is
why I went for a realistic effect.
5. Process
• the character designs were very fun to
make as I could make the characters how
I wanted to and explore different ways to
make them. I decided on using a four leg
sequence when making my characters as
the characters were small so I found it
difficult to make all the eight different
walk motions due to the amount of pixels
there were available. I made one arm
with a gun and one arm that was normal
so that when the character walked past
the gun it looked like he picked it up as it
would switch to his gun. Once I had made
my green main character I simply
duplicated him three more times, flipped
two of the characters round and changed
the colour of their uniform to red and I
had easily made my enemies. I also had
to edit the hands of the characters so
that they had different guns so that it
showed the customer there was a variety
of guns in the game, this would appeal to
my audience as there may be a chance to
customize their character if they play the
game.
6. Process
• The process used in the layers was very
complicating as there was many different
layers to move at a time and if you forgot
about one it would make a portion of the
game look out of place. Making sure all
the numbers changed when you picked
up gun and shot the bullets was
important as the contingency of the
game would have been wrong if it wasn’t
corrected and made the game look
unprofessional as the player wouldn’t be
able to trust how many bullets they have
and sometimes get frustrated with the
game if they think they have more bullets
than they do which would make them
not want to play the game. I also named
all the different layers so that it was
easier to move them as it can be very
time consuming if you’re having to spend
long amounts of time looking for the
correct layer.
