POETRY
a form of poetry which
expresses personal emotions or
feelings, typically spoken in the
first person

3. Italian or Petrarchan
is a sonnet divided with an
emotion into an octave-
stanza of 8 line and a
sextet-stanza or a poem of
6 lines.

4. Shakespearean or
Spenserian (also called
English)
is a sonnet divided
into three quatrians and a
couplet

5. Elegy
this is a lyric poem
which expresses
feelings of grief and
melancholy, and
whose theme is death

6. Ode
this is a poem of a noble
feeling, expresses with
dignity with no definite
number of syllables or
definite number of lines in
stanza.

7. Psalms
is a song praising God or
the Virgin Mary and
containing a philosophy
Life

8. Awit(song)
These have measures of
syllables (dodecasyllabic) and
slowly’s sung to the
accompaniment of a guitar or
banduria.

9. Corridos
These have measures
of eight syllables
(octosyllabic) and
recited to a martial
beat
