The Spanish exchange student notes several differences between living in Germany and Spain based on their one week visit:
1) Most Germans live in houses with big gardens while most people the student knows in Spain live in apartments.
2) German food includes more vegetables, even on pizza and bread.
3) Germans prefer bicycles for transportation while Spaniards typically walk places.
4) Germans go to bed very early and also wake up early, while parties in Spain involve dancing late.

Interview with a Spanish Exchange Student
Interviewer: Good evening, you are from Spain, aren´t you?
Student: Yes, I am.
Interviewer: And you are visiting Germany?
Student: Yes, I´m doing a student exchange for one week.
Interviewer: Yeah, I heard about it...Can you tell me the biggest
difference between the way of living here and in
Spain for you?
Student: Everybody here lives in houses, but the people I
know from Spain usually live in flats. The German
also have a big garden with a lot of plants and
flowers.
Interviewer: It´s very beautiful, you enjoy your week here a
lot, right?
Student: Yes, but the food is a bit different too. They eat
so many vegetables, on their pizza and on their
bread!
Interviewer: Oh, and is there any other difference?
Student: Yeah! They ride bikes whenever they want to get to
another place, in my week here I saw more
people on bikes than in my whole life. In Spain we
always walk to school or to our friends.
Interviewer: And what about the parties? You dance a lot in
Spain, right?
Student: They don´t have parties here, and they go to bed
very very early.
2. Interviewer: So you have a lot of time to sleep?
Student: No, they also get up very early in the morning.
Interviewer: Okay, that were all my questions, thank you very
much. I hope the rest of your exchange will be
wonderful too.

3. Interview with a German Exchange Student
Interviewer: Hello, how are you?
Student: Fine, thanks.
Interviewer: Okay, let´s start. My first question is what do you
think what the biggest difference is.
Student: The people are very relaxed. They´re all like a big
family.
Interviewer: Do you like it?
Student: Yes, in Germany a lot of children are bullied
because they like a different kind of music or
aren´t as pretty as the other but in Spain they
don´t mind.
Interviewer: Oh, that´s great! What about the evenings?
Student: They eat and go to bed very late. When I´m tired
and my family in Germany goes to sleep, they´re still
awake.
Interviewer: And what do they eat?
Student: They eat a lot of fast food, sweets and that kind
of stuff. They eat less vegetables than we do in
Germany, I don´t know how they can be so skinny.
Interviewer: Can you think of last difference for the interview?
Student: Yes, in Spain a lot of people live in flats, I live in a
big house with a number of rooms, twice as many
as in Spain and a big garden.
Interviewer: Okay, thank you very much. That was interesting.
