    Negative emotions can disrupt work
    When people feel good, they work at their best, especially in
     teams.
    The leader’s emotional state and actions affect the people that
     they lead and how well these people perform.
    Importance of creating “resonance” with followers

Strengths of the book:


 Authors clear in describing how important emotional
 intelligence is as part of leading people.
    Most at management level do not understand this
 Studies and research performed regarding physiologic
 principles-brain activity/limbic system as proof of
 usefulness of E.I.
 Strongest lesson is that anyone can be a good leader
   Must have the desire
Shortcomings of the book:


 Emotional Intelligence is very important as part of
 being a leader, but:
    a leader of today must possess many qualities and traits that
     include being a good communicator, visionary, flexible and
     influential.


 Too in depth, very long book that could have been
 made much shorter and more simplistic.

            For whom and what circumstances:



 I would recommend Primal Leadership: Learning to
 lead with emotional intelligence to all Leaders,
 inside and outside of Healthcare

 Emotional Intelligence is a crucial aspect of anyone
 wanting to become a successful leader in today’s
 society.

Shortcomings of the book:  Emotional Intelligence is very important as part of being a leader, but:  a leader of today must possess many qualities and traits that include being a good communicator, visionary, flexible and influential.  Too in depth, very long book that could have been made much shorter and more simplistic.
  • 9. Recommend the book? For whom and what circumstances:  I would recommend Primal Leadership: Learning to lead with emotional intelligence to all Leaders, inside and outside of Healthcare  Emotional Intelligence is a crucial aspect of anyone wanting to become a successful leader in today’s society.
