2. Why Social Networking?
I chose social networking for two reasons:
1. Billions of people use different
forms of social networking everyday.
2. There are lots of negative influences
that many individuals are unaware of.
Such influences are bullying, greed,irrational
behavior & less one-on-one conversation.
3. History
Before social media sites launched, companies were the
only ones allowed to provide internet content, but it was
expensive. Now, social media sites have eliminated
companies financial burdens.

which launched in 2003
- then launched in February of 2004
- Lastly, launched in 2010
4. Current Problems
Individuals are now:
- Lashing out
-Taking the personalization out of life
- Taking their freedoms too far
5. Possible Causes
- Economy is down, but stress levels are up
- We live in an individualistic society
- Social Networking sites make it easy for people not to get
caught for their wrongdoings.
6. Finding A
- Monitor and set time limits for children on
all computers & cell phones
- Inform children of internet threats at a young age &
continue to do so in college and beyond.
- Make social networking sites shut down, allowing them to
scan for problems
- Social networking sites should have waivers
7. Pros & Cons of Solutions
Pros
- Bullying rates will decrease
- More face-to-face interactions
- Childhood ADD & obesity will decrease
- Insecurity levels will decrease
- Sexual Predator rates will decline
-Depression will decline
Cons
- Individuals are too dependent on the internet
- Social networking sites won’t make changes because
they will lose business
