Daily Market Insight
The Nifty shed most of the intraday losses
and closed near psychological support of
5,700 as weak cues from global peers
dampened sentiment.
Selling pressure continued in stocks from
the broader markets on margins calls
concerns. The BSE mid-capstock Index is
down nearly 15 per cent from its highs
registered in the month of January.
The 50-share index ended at 5,701.15,
down 18.55 points or 0.32 per cent. It
touched a high of 5,712 and a low of
5,663.50 in trade today.
The Sensex closed at 18,891.69, down
26.83 points or 0.14 per cent, close to its
lowest close since Nov. 27 hit on
Thursday. It touched a high of 18,930.86
and a low of 18,760.41 in trade today.
The BSE Midcap Index fell 1.37 per cent
and the BSE Smallcap Index was down
Outlook for the day 1.83 per cent.

In coming sessions, 5,650 shall be crucial
deciding level in near term, and index is likely to NIFTY 5698.50 -21.20 -0.37%
witness further selling below this level. Below
5,650, likely target is 5,625-5,550, while above SENSEX 18877.96 -40.56 -0.21%
5,750, likely target is 5,815-5,850.

The option data suggests that the market participants are currently
visualizing the 6000 mark on the higher side. Very high CALL writing at
6000 Strike price will stop market to move beyond 6000 mark. On the other
side we can see equal PUT writings on 5700 to 5600 strike price. This
indicates that NIFTY down move would be restricted below 5600 mark. Last
session’s option data indicated that NIFTY can have a range of 5600 and
6000 in near term.
