Daily Market Insight
Despite better than expected IIP growth
numbers, markets ended in red. However,
there was some relief to hear that the
government and the opposition has reached
to some agreement on passing the banking
bill in parliament, which was at a logjam.
Apart from this, Auto and Aviation sector
stocks were also up on the news of hike in
prices and possible buyout by a foreign
company respectively.
Tech Mahindra topped the value chart on
the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 3,945.13
million. It was followed by Reliance Capital
(Rs. 948.28 million), United Spirits (Rs.
930.37 million) and State Bank Of India
(Rs. 827.72 million).
Trading strategy for today:
If NIFTY FUT. opens below 5926 and
sustain below this level go short with the
Outlook for the day support of 5950/5960. If NIFTY FUTURE
opens above 5942 and trades above
Mahindra and Mahindra was the top gainer on 5955, then go long with the support of
the NIFTY today, after reports suggested that the 5926/5902/5890.
auto major is looking to raise vehicle prices by
over a percent. Bank of America, Merril Lynch
has raised its target on the stock to Rs 1,035,
foreseeing a trend reversal in the tractor
segment. Autos overall as a sector did well; Bajaj
Auto up 2.57% and Hero Motocorp up 1.92%. INDICES LTP Change % Change

The option data suggests that the market participants are currently
visualizing the 6000 mark on the higher side. Very high CALL writing at
6000 Strike price will stop market to move beyond 6000 mark. On the other
side we can see equal PUT writings on 5500 to 5800 strike price. This
indicates that NIFTY down move would be restricted below 5800 mark. Last
session’s option data indicated that NIFTY can have a range of 5800 and
6000 in near term.
