With the upcoming IoT, our living environment transforms into an interconnected ecosystem that provides services to us. It reacts to us intuitively and preferably before we by ourselves know that we are shortly going to wish something. This scenario calls for reconsidering the classical user interface. Will every „thing“ get an own interface to be able to understand it’s contribution? Shall we really control the whole system with an App – or thousands of them?
Is the user actively operating at all in the IoT, or will the known user interface be obsolete, when the services are produced by a context sensitive, autonomous adaptive system? What to design if there is only user experience left? Can the user stand not to be a user anymore? Will he need a substitute satisfaction? The talk has a focus on the changed perspective of interface design due to IoT.
