RBFM Series Ultrasonic Flow Meter
Principle of Measurement
The RBFM transit-time flow meter utilizes two transducers that function as both ultrasonic
transmitters and receivers. The transducers are clamped on the outside of a closed pipe at a specific
distance from each other. The transducers can be mounted in V-method where the sound
transverses the pipe twice, or W-method where the sound transverses the pipe four times, or in
Z-method where the transducers are mounted on opposite sides of the pipe and the sound crosses
the pipe once. This selection of the mounting method depends on pipe and liquid characteristics.
The flow meter operates by alternately transmitting and receiving a frequency modulated burst of
sound energy between the two transducers and measuring the transit time that it takes for sound to
travel between the two transducers. The difference in the transit time measured is directly and
exactly related to the velocity of the liquid in the pipe, show as follows:

Fixed Type: the RBFM-F is a fixed-mount, low cost transit-time ultrasonic flow meter
with clamp-on transducers for non-invasive liquid flow rate measurement. Our
microprocessor-based, user friendly field programmable creates no interruption of the process flow
and has low installation costs.
This versatile series of flow meters is available in a
variety of configurations. Available transducer
types include clamp-on, in-line, and insertion.
Wall-mount, panel-mount, pipe-mounted and
compact din-rail mounted display types are also
offered. Additional available features include pulse,
0-20mA & 4-20mA outputs, RS-232
communication, user-selectable engineering units,
and a data logger function.

Typical Applications
The RBPF flow meter can be virtually applied to a wide range of measurements. The measured pipe
ranges 15-6000mm. Because the instrument and transducers are non-contacting and have no
moving parts; the flow meter can not be affected by system pressure, fouling or wear. Standard

Ultrasonic Heat meter
Overview
RB series ultrasonic heat meters employ the proven transit-time ultrasonic flow
measurement technique combined with two PT 100 temperature sensors (or customer-supplied
RTD sensors) for calculating total and instantaneous energy consumption. Flow measurement may
be achieved via clamp-on, spool piece, or insertion-type sensors. Our microprocessor based, user
friendly field programmable flow measurement technique creates no interruption of the process
flow and allows for easy installation.
RB series ultrasonic heat meter is available with a variety of features that make it adaptable to
many different applications. Available transducer types include clamp-on, in-line, and insertion.
Wall-mount, panel-mount, pipe-mounted and compact din-rail mounted display types are also
offered. Additional available features include pulse, 0-20mA & 4-20mA outputs, RS-232
communication, user-selectable engineering units, and a data logger function. This variety of
features, combined with its low cost, make the RB series an ideal choice for economical BTU
monitoring in many applications involving chillers, radiators, and heat exchangers.

Features
 Calibrated in manufacture's lab, field setup is unnecessary.
 Measurement is independent of fluid nature with wider applications than magnetic meters.
 Available including up to 2GB event data logger, can search the event of totalizer flow, flow
rate, velocity etc.
 Parallel operation of positive, negative and net flow totalizer, while the output of totalizer pulse
and frequency output are transmitted via open collector.
 Re-calibration or maintenance is easy, no processing interruption (just plug out the inserted
transducers from pipe line, when re-calibration or maintenance is finished), can be hot-tapped.

Application
The wall-mounting flow meter can be applied to a wide range of pipe flow measurements. Applicable
liquids include pure liquids as well as liquid with small quantity of tiny particles.

Summary
RBTG Ultrasonic Thickness gauge is used for measuring the
thickness of materials where access to only one side of the test
piece is available for many different materials including steel,
cast iron, aluminum, red copper, brass, zinc, quartz glass,
