2. Existing ProductI chose this fashion magazine which in many ways is similar
to how my final product will look like.
The masthead is behind the model, this reveals that the
main image of the model is the main focus to the magazine.
The model is also looking straight at the camera giving the
audience direct address, I am looking to achieve this within
my magazine. This also relates to the main image being in
the center of the cover and the masthead is easy to find for
the audience by being at the top of the magazine in a bold
unsaturated colour scheme which makes it stand out.
The colour scheme of this cover mainly focuses on different
shades of light and dark pinks and basic colours e.g. white,
black these are used to emphasise the keywords. The bright
white of the model's top shows she stands out and presents
purity and innocence. The light pastel background connotes
summer which could relate to inside the magazine with the
âhot swimwear hits these sell lines all relate towards
summertime. In my magazine front cover I also wanted to
include the light mix of saturated colours to create a chilled
and calm mood to my audience. The photo is a full shot
including the mise en scene of the models pose which looks
quite sweet and innocent with the posture of her arms this
could imply she is shy through her facial expressions,
therefore the line âbikini confidentâ connotes that it gives the
readers a message that anyone can be confident and feel
great about there body image in any type of clothing and
that this clothing appeals to any female audiences. The
genre to this magazine mainly would be fashion as the
masthead is named âfashionâ and gives out styles and how to
match outfits this is something which I am also looking to
achieve on my font cover with the sell lines.
Overall, all of this makes the audience want
to buy this magazine because especially in my
opinion the colour scheme is something
which grabs my attention therefore I think
this type of colour scheme of pinks would
grab the female audience and the clothes the
model is wearing look high quality which the
audience might like that.
3. Existing Product
This two page spread is how I am looking to present
mine for my magazine, to begin the âcover lookâ title
heading is quite small and doesnât take up a lot of
space which I like because when a font is too big
sometimes it can look over crowding and put the
audience off. The colour of the heading is black which
connotes it stands out from the white background, this
then grabs the attention to the font even though it is
small. The main image on the double page spread is
located very central to the first page so that is
something which catches the readers eye immediate
and the fact this is a celebrity, therefore fans of her will
also grab her attention a lot more. This image is a
medium shot including her face who is Emma Watson
and the mise en scene of her facial expressions show a
serious pose. This magazine is showing of Emma's style
which is also very similar to how I want to produce
mine by including a well-known celebrity and including
how they style their outfits and their favorites. The
color scheme gives of a fall look with calm tones of
light blues, greys including a bit of pink I like the idea of
this because it isnât the same colours itâs a mix
therefore it makes it more interesting and not boring to
the audience. The layout of the images I also really like
because around the main image are other magazine
front covers and Emma's looks, this whole two page
spread is divide off into different stories it focuses on
the celebrity and wont get the audience confused
which will also be similar to my product. The idea of
the drop cap of w also makes the page look a lot more
professional which I like and will also appeal to my
audience type.
Lastly, the mention of a well known celebrity definitely makes
this audience want to buy this magazines because a lot of
people prefer celebs styles and like to follow them instead of
someone's normal style therefore they are more likely to
want this magazines to achieve this style especially if they are
a fan of Emma, I think the layout finishes this magazine off
and is set out perfectly as the images are high quality.
4. Existing ProductMy last similar existing product is a
website I used the brand
PRETTYLITTLETHING as an example
because this is one of my favourite
online shops. The logo to this
website is a bold font in black this
background is also a basic white
colour therefore the logo stands out
a lot more even though the font is a
small size the colour is an advantage.
The colour scheme is bright neon
vibe colours this gives of a summer
tone with the background of the
swimming pool. The focus to the
website is the only model at a
medium shot, posing this mise en
scene of her facial expressions to me
seems Asif she s a confident person
the way she is presented. This makes
the audience intrigued and want
them to buy this because when the
model is shown confident it makes
the audience believe by wearing
these outfits you can be confident or
make the audience become more
confident in themselves. The 70% off
connotes that this website includes a
range of prices for this clothing and
giving a discount can really attract an
audience this is because
People are more likely wanting good quality clothing at a cheaper price
but this is quite hard to find as higher quality is more expensive but with a
discount code this will more likely grab the audiences attention at he fac
this is another main focus to the website in a large bright saturated pink
font its something that straight away grabs the attention. Another thing
which will be similar to my product and which I love is the layout of this
website I think it is one of the best and creative ones I have seen because
it gives of very girly, bright vibes which is definitely for my female specific
audience type. I also like the idea of the matching colour schemes whereas
in my other existing products the colours was a mix and range, but this
website mostly is pinks and white these colours connote love, goodness
and purity to my audience.
5. Existing Product
This is a vogue magazine from 1990 and is similar to my final
products by mainly the colour scheme these colours a bright
pastel colours of blues and pinks the colour blue connotes
calmness and gives of a soothing tone this helps the audience
calm their mind and focus on this magazine. The masthead also
relates to this colour scheme and is a very large font which is in
front of the background image this reveals the magazine wants
the reader to notice the rand and how important âVOGUEâ is.
Moving on to the background image is also another main focus
as it s a model who is centered in the middle with a medium
shot showing of her clothing this is shown through the mise-en
scene of her posture of her arms opening up to reveal her outfit
and also her facial expressions of her smiling this connotes
happiness and expresses this to the audience to be confident in
what you wear. As vogue is a upper-class institution, the
statemen of advertising â100 spring looksâ really gabs the
audiences attention because many people aspire vogue and
may be fans of this magazine so by showing of looks and styles
it makes the reader want to be inspired by this look and create
it themselves. Although there isnât many cover lines
surrounded on this image but the layout of how they flow
around the body of the model is something I like as it doesnât
look to overcrowded or overlap the model so therefore the
focus is still on the photo of the model. Something. Else which
is similar is the date of the magazine which is placed
underneath the title I like this idea because it isnât too
noticeable but still stands out in a different colour and is easy
to spot when being underneath the main masthead.
This also really appeals to my target audience of
women who arenât afraid to show it off and as I am
looking for my model to be confident in what she
wears to inspire my audience. I also am really
intrigued to the background colour this fades and is a
mix of blue and a light colour I love the idea of this as
it really makes the magazine stand out and finishes it
off and makes the audience want to buy it.

creative logos which stand out
and arenât just basic and
include other things.
⢠How will your product appeal
to this audience: For my
product to appeal to this
audience I will use photoshop
to change the colour scheme
and dafont for creative
saturated colours to grab my
audiences attention and
include an image under or
above the logo this will
represent my brand.

audience shop for there
clothes every 2-3 times a

not like to tend to overload
themselves by buying clothes
everyday and prefer the

why
No, because I would get a magazine if it had the correct content in in which I
was looking for.
⢠What colours schemes mainly attract you to a piece of clothing and why?
Light colours as they are more eye catching.
⢠Is the layout on a magazine two page spread important to you and how
Yes because you want as much detail on the topic as you can.
⢠Do discount codes e.g. (50% off) attract you to that specific website and
why?
Yes if they a relevant to the magazine as it interests you more in buying it.
⢠Do you prefer more luxurious clothing at a higher price and why?
No because then you are wondering on how you are going to buy it and it will
be pointless reading.
20. Interview 1
⢠Observation: from looking at this first interview that
this person prefers what is in the magazine and he
content over the presentation or celebs included.
⢠What this says about my audience: These results tell me
that my audience will pay a reasonable price for a
magazine but if it includes all the content they are
looking for it doesnât necessarily depend on the design
and quality.
⢠How will your product appeal to this audience: My
product will appeal to this audience because it will fit
the needs of my audience by making sure I include full
content and in detail for my audience and spend more
time on this than the design of the product. My

whites will be included.
21. Interview 2
⢠Would it be mainly a specific celebrity which attracts you to a magazine and why?
When it comes down to being attracted to a magazine, if there was a celebrity on
the front cover or involved I would definitely feel more obliged to look in the
magazine because I would see the celebrity as a role model and somehow who I
would want to look up to.
⢠What colours schemes mainly attract you to a piece of clothing and why?
Colour schemes which would draw me into a piece of clothing would be dark
colours because personally I can style many things with dark colours and they are
very flattering.
⢠Is the layout on a magazine two page spread important to you and how?
A double page spread is important because it means you are able to read about the
latest news or updates to do with whatever topic the magazine is based on.
⢠Do discount codes e.g. (50% off) attract you to that specific website and why?
Discount codes are one of the best things to advertise on a website because one
you can get whatever you want to order cheaper and it is a great way to widen your
consumers.
⢠Do you prefer more luxurious clothing at a higher price and why?
Personally I prefer luxurious clothing because it is much better quality and you can
have one designer item and it changes your whole vibe of your outfit.

about the layout and how it looks more than the content.

expects high quality clothing and cares about how they look
in the clothes and wants it to be a more popular brand, they
also like the idea of good content included in a two page
magazine and like eye catching designing.
⢠How will your product appeal to this audience: My product
will appeal to this specific audience by including a main
celebrity on my two page spread as this will mainly attract
my audience as they will be inspired and look up to this
person I will also make sure my photos are taken on a high
quality camera for the best possible outcomes.
23. Audience ProfileCategory Demographic Content to appeal to this audience
Age Range
My survey results
aged at under 18 so
mine will be 16-18
⢠This will include celebrity indorsement which will
mainly attract my audience or fans of his it will also
have clothing which is more trendy and appealed
to a younger audience.
Gender
female ⢠My colour scheme will be saturated feminine
colours such as pinks, purples and white therefore
it would appeal to this specific gender, I will be
using female models around the same age range
and the clothing are for females and the different
styles will appeal to them. My online website will
also only be only women's clothing.
Psychographic
Achievers ⢠I mainly always chose this psychographic because
this one stands out and appeals to this audience as
the clothing brand is a serious business which
advertises clothing and is expressed quickly this
also focuses on individuality which is included
through my brand, by expressing your personality
through clothes.
Social Status
Balanced ⢠This group mixes with achievers and I will be
including clothing which is benefitting man kind
and you are able to express yourself through my
clothing brand and make my audience feel more
confident in it.
25. Research Evaluation
⢠Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method
â Product Research
Strengths-
⢠Gives good ideas of layouts and how to produce my products without copyright.
⢠Ideas for fonts and different colour schemes using different websites.
⢠Good example to look up websites and magazines.
Weaknesses-
⢠Not as accurate as an actual magazine in real life.
⢠This can be time consuming.
⢠May not find the correct or exact ideas I am looking for.
â Questionnaires
Strengths-
⢠I was able to find a range of different results and reflect on these.
⢠Corrected accurate results which helped towards my final product.
⢠Helped me to understand my audience.
Weaknesses-
⢠Time consuming when collecting at least 10 responses.
⢠Sometimes answers werenât expanded in detail making it a lot more difficult for me.
⢠Some people who answered didnât match my audience.
â Interviews
strengths-
⢠I was also able to get a better understanding of what my audience liked and disliked therefore my product
would appeal to them.
⢠The questions were a lot more detailed.
Weaknesses-
⢠Only got two people to responded.
⢠Hard to find females.
⢠Some results werenât that effective.
26. Research Evaluation
â What sort of a response did you get?
All together I collected 10 different people to complete my survey within those
10 results I gathered that my most highest response I got was 90% of which my
audience chose that they preferred a more casual style of clothing to wear,
therefore in my final products I will make sure I include this type of clothing.
â How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
I distrusted my survey through survey monkey and by copying the link and
sending it to people through social media an advantage was that I was able to
get a range of different answers from my friends through socials not just the
people in my class. However some of the results wasnât that effective and in as
much detail as I would have liked to really understand my own audience type
this made it a lot more difficult.
