11. FOR EACH PROJECT - DO THIS:
• Keep a daily, weekly and monthly schedule
• Plan for the unplanned
• TODAY Plan a time to meet in your group
• Use the ABC method with your group -
A = most important & most urgent
B = 2nd most important
C = least important - smaller, easier tasks
• Get ready the night before - do you have
everything. You won’t only be missing out but
you will be letting your group down.
15. Leader complex:
Allow someone to take charge - natural in
group setting - if this is YOU, this is not your
opportunity for world domination.
Don’t negotiate when angry.
Forget the past and stay in the present.
Focus on the problem and not the person
Communicate feelings without blame
Listen to another person’s opinion
16. • Identify the problem
• NEVER jump to conclusions without
talking to the person concerned.
• Generate solutions
• Select the best course of actions that
you can all agree on.
17. Discuss Scenarios
• You have organised to meet at someone’s house to film and one
of your group members just doesn’t show up. What do you do?
• There is one person in your group who has taken on almost
every part of your project and has not asked anyone else to help.
Even though this may feel great, you realise that when hand-in
time comes, your name may not appear on anything. What do
you do?
• You are discussing your topic or idea from any one of your
projects, but one or two of your group members only see the
issues or problems with the ideas and has offered no solutions.
What do you do?

23. Geography Project
Grade 10 Quarter 3 Geography Research Project Topics
This is an outline – the final project sheet will be emailed to you in the next week.
Video needs to be detailed enough to be used as a study aid.
The group will use the video to teach the class that topic.
The video and group presentation will be used as the project assessment for quarter 3.
The video element of the task will be used for the Next Vista Project.
Instructions
Video:
Once the groups have been named and topics elected, students will begin working to identify how they
can move from cursory explanations of the topic, to more complex explorations, to insightful
connections with other aspects of their learning. (Moving along this scale may result in groups
creating multiple videos, showing ever-deeper understanding of the topics chosen.)
The video, which is the central piece of this project, must concisely and as creatively as possible
explain the topic in a video of one to three minutes. This includes identifying a variety of sources for
visuals for the video (Creative Commons-licensed images, footage and photos they take themselves,
original artwork, etc.) and carefully tracking the citation information they will need for a properly
completed video.
Presentation:
The group needs to present their research to the class as an essay which makes reference to their
video and clearly shows the research that was undertaken to explore the topic
