Jewish environmental education is a natural extension of any scout, religious school, youth group or adult outdoor activity. Many basic concepts of ecology can be found in the T’NaCh and other Jewish religious writings. The use of Jewish texts and stories adds a new dimension to the generic hike Jewish environmental education inspires participants to learn by listening, experimenting, discussing, playing, and doing! Jewish Environmental Education teaches Jewish texts and customs that promote an understanding of human interaction with nature and advances understanding of ecology and Judaism together.

The area of investigation for this project will only focus on the representational image of form, colour and shape of the native orchids I have chosen to focus on rather than replicating its exact image. I intend to create a story through my design which incorporates change. These will be represented on the life cycle of the orchids. The first costume design will be created as life-like then will slowly change, leaving stylized form and shape then losing its life. There is an inbuilt message of hope on this concept –this will be represented with a new growth of an orchid. Its materiality will manifest through aesthetic and imaginative interpretation of the costumes where elements of colours, form and shape inspired by the Spider, Helmet and Bearded orchid will be based upon. This concept is fuelled by my ongoing involvement with environmental groups and by creating these designs will significantly heightened community awareness that these species are threatened by climate change, loss of habitat and human impacts.

The cultural basis for colour symbolism can be very powerful. Throughout the history colour play an important part of our ancestors. Everyone of us has its own favourite colour. What’s yours? My favourite colour are sky-blue because to me it represents the sky, peace and enlightenment, ochre represents the land, green represents the earth and pink. These slides are all my original works therefore copyirght is probihited without any permission from me. Copying someone's works are illegal under copyright law.
