   In this development stage of cities, infrastructure has grown to the extent and
    population increased due migration of the people from the rural to urban area.
   The Accommodation of this population would need proper infrastructure and
    management for sustainable development.
   The production of Solid waste is increased drastically. In a municipal solid waste
    management system, decreasing collection/hauling costs, which consist of major
    part of total disposal expenditure, can be carried out by a route optimization. Thus,
    huge amount of economical benefits is getting furnished.

 To   improve , monitor the efficiency, utilize
 the resources and derive cost benefit and
 services by implementing the GIS and Vehicle
 tracking in solid waste collection system.

   Reclassify the priority of the bin location on the basis
    of population and waste generation.
   Optimize the trip distance and time to ensure
    maximum utilization of resources and batter service.
   To reduce Carbon emission.

  returned to original location or some other location

              Tilt frame container: 960 kg empty

              Trash trailer - for heavy, bulky rubbish

               (construction, commercial, usually open top
               container);
              2 crew per vehicle.(1 Driver+1 Cleaner)

   In The project ,GIS help to reclassify the location of the
    bins to optimize the use of resources.
   Optimized route through network analysis helped to
    save natural resources.
    Trip time reduction help to serve more location
    effectively, with less manpower and infrastructure.
   GIS provided utilization of resources and reduces
    expenditure on fuel ,Cost benefits in this case study.
   It also provide decision support in case of change in
    system.
   Various indirect benefit served by analysis to restructure
    the collection system

Application of tracking and gis in solid waste management

In this development stage of cities, infrastructure has grown to the extent and population increased due migration of the people from the rural to urban area.  The Accommodation of this population would need proper infrastructure and management for sustainable development.  The production of Solid waste is increased drastically. In a municipal solid waste management system, decreasing collection/hauling costs, which consist of major part of total disposal expenditure, can be carried out by a route optimization. Thus, huge amount of economical benefits is getting furnished. 2
