1. The summer has gone by so fast! We have many new friends joining us, and some old friends leaving us for Kindergarten.
Sara is still away this month, and we have other teachers away periodically during this month, too. Because of this, we have
invited Emily Terrell and Emily Williams from Dining Services to help us in the classroom this month. Both Emilys have
experience with young children and are taking courses in college to work with children as their carreers, so they are happy to
assist, and we look forward to having them with us. At the end of August we will have our Parent Meeting to kick off this
upcoming school year. Please mark your calendars for 6pm on Tuesday, August 29, to make sure you attend this important
meeting! Have a great month! Jeni Hoover, KELC Director

2. From the KELC Teachers:
From the Classroom:
The weather this summer has been great so far! We have been
able to do so much outside. The Splash Pad in Grafton is a free
resource that we are happy to take advantage of using. The
children had so much fun playing there on our field trip. This
month we have also walked to the New Russia Township Park,
had a Water Day in the play yard, walked to see a Grandfriend’s
miniature train town with working train, and ran on Kendal’s
long covered bridge, Buttonbush Bridge. We hope the weather
stays nice for the rest of the summer so we can continue to enjoy
the Kendal grounds and community areas.
Enjoy the sunshine! Robin, Karen, Macie, and Mary
