2. ITEM 1
In the Art Learning Center, the required time for art is at LEAST 1 hour a day. Less time
is required for programs only if programs are operating on 8 or 6 hour days.
Art materials include the following categories:
• Drawing Materials
• Painting Materials
• Three-dimensional Materials
• Collage Materials
• Proper Tools

3. • Drawing Materials: crayons, colored pencils, water-colored makers, dry erase makers,
pens and chalk.
• Painting Materials: water-colored paint, finger paint, different size paint brushes,
sponge brushes, paint rollers and paper

4. • Three-dimensional Materials: Play dough, popsicle sticks for gluing and clay.
• Collage Materials: Glue, various types of colored paper, yarn, magazines, natural
objects, cotton balls and buttons. Note* food is NOT an art material. Examples: dry
macaroni and beans

5. ITEM 2
• Having the children to draw pictures of themselves then placing them on a world
collage they all made together is a way to show diversity.
• Having the colors and materials labeled in Spanish

• By allowing children to have access to the art center at anytime and giving them the
choice to create what they wish, they develop the ability to…

The Teachers role in demonstrating different was to create…
Example:
• Having children to look at different painting from other artist to come up with ideas
for their own creations.
• Allowing children create art following field trips. Zoo trips children may draw their
favorite animal they saw.
• Making art by the seasons. In April, you may use natural products and create a
collage to show that it is spring time.

• Creating a stimulating, aesthetically pleasing and child-friendly
