You’ve only got 10 seconds to grab your viewer’s attention and, according to research by Visible Measures, 20% of your viewers will click away from a video in 10 seconds or less. 
Furthermore, you’ll lose about 1/3rd of your viewers by 30 seconds, 45% of them by 1 minute and almost 60% by 2 minutes, regardless of how long the video is. 
Now here’s the good news. While desktop viewers tend to stick with videos for 2 minutes or less, mobile users seem to have a longer attention span, and, depending on the device, are found to watch between 2-5 minutes of video. 
So it’s clear; shorter videos are in. But there’s another reason to keep your videos short; they get shared more too. Research shows that videos that are 15 seconds or shorter are shared 37% more often than those that last between 30 seconds to a minute. 
The bottom line is, people aren’t watching long videos. Shorter videos are more likely to get more engagement than longer ones.

Putting your video on website gives your visitors something engaging to watch, assuming you have a good video. Make sure it fits your page content. It should be educational, engaging, or entertaining. Video also helps to lower website bounce rate (aka people clicking away from your site.) Of course there is more to ranking than that. Video gives you more traffic and more visitor engagement.

Let’s assume you’re a dentist and you upload a video called “Wisdom Tooth Extraction in YOUR CITY NAME” to YouTube and also embed the YouTube video on your website. Now when people search for those keywords in Google, your YouTube is far more likely to appear on the first page of search results. Why? Because Google owns YouTube and wants to promote their own videos in the search results wherever possible. According to Forrester research, videos are 50% more likely to appear in the first page of search results in Google. As an added bonus, research shows that videos are 27% more likely to be clicked on in the search engine results than websites. 
Email 
Why not email your old, recent or brand new clients with a video that answers some of their biggest questions, highlights a new product or service, simply shares useful information with them? Not sure if it’s worth it? Consider this… 60% of marketers believe that video in email campaigns improves conversions and, in 2010, an Implix email marketing survey found that including a video in an introductory email increased the click-through rate by 96%. That’s nearly twice as many people clicking through to your website when you include a video in your marketing emails. Finally, the Forrester Marketing group found that marketers who included a marketing or explainer video in an email enjoyed a 200% to 300% boost in click thrus to their website.
VIDEO MARKETING MISTAKES 
Not using SEO friendly video titles Give your video a title that will work well in search engines. The same goes for tagging and the description if you post it on sites like YouTube. Remember that Google owns YouTube. Use the correct terms and keywords, and it’ll do a lot of the work for you.

Overspending You don’t need to hire an entire video production crew and studio time to produce effective online videos. Especially when you consider that the most effective videos are under 30 seconds long. Most videos can be done on a surprisingly tight budget, whether you do it yourself or outsource it to an expert.

Google Ranking Case Study: Benson Stone: From nowhere on Google to Ranking #1 
Doing everything right but still something was missing. 
Problem 
Benson Stone is a prominent 5th generation family business in Rockford, IL. Selling furniture, flooring, kitchens, granite countertops, fireplaces and landscape materials, it is known as the furniture factory where customers can explore over 80,000 square feet of home furnishings. 
However, even with a great website, translating their presence of grandeur online was challenging, as they were not ranking in Google for their top keywords and competitors beating them great keywords. Without the right strategies, they were lost in the search results. 
In addition, Benson Stone had a host of valuable videos on home improvement, but their views and market reach were below expectations. 
Solution 
Benson Stone came to Jon Muranko of MarketingByPermission.com for assistance in improving their rank in Google and producing Youtube ads July 25th 2014. #1) Having a thorough understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and the frequent updates made by Engines in their algorithms, Jon and his team went to work. Using the results from analysis performed, Benson Stone as of September 22nd, 2014 ranked #1 in Google for the keyword “granite countertops Rockford IL” and moved from 2nd page to first for other keywords such as “granite countertops.” 
The video campaign aimed at their local target market received over 2000 views on YouTube and ranked in the top 3 of Google for their keyword. 
Both these efforts have already led to a significant increase in website traffic which will inevitably contribute to more in store visitors.
