This document provides instructions for a stream of consciousness writing exercise where the participant sits in their neighborhood for 5 days and writes down everything they see, hear, smell, taste, and touch without thinking or judging. The participant is told to pay special attention to the routines of daily life and sights and sounds of their neighborhood and city. They are also given questions to answer describing their observations in more detail.

1. Stream of Consciousness
Directions:
Sit in your neighborhood for 5 days . You will be writing stream of consciousness
notes. Without thinking or judging, write down everything you see, hear smell
taste touch. Pay special attention to the routines of daily life, the sights and
sounds of your neighborhood and city.
NO TALKING while doing this exercise. You MUST be completely silent and
do the activity alone. Don’t worry about spelling or grammar. Write
whatever comes to your eyes and ears.
