1. Proposal

Working Title:
Sky-walkers magic
Audience:
My audience is going to be more aimed toward Male due to the fact that I have some violence in it and these tend
to play video games more found from research from yougov. females can play it too because it is an adventure
game which are not gender specific and women do make up half of the gaming community found from research.
The age I have decided for my audience is teenagers between the ages 15-24, I have chosen this as my audience
because it has some violence included so it is not meant for children but also this is the main audience age range
which plays video games which I found out from my research on my survey but when researching online I have
found out that 25-39 are most interested in games, but teens have more times on their hands because they tend to
be unemployed which is why they will play my game more. The social grade of the people buying my game is
C1BA which is all middle class and it is at this because I am planning on my game being around £30 and this is the
main type of group who have disposable income so it should sell well in this area. The psychographic for my game
is Needs driven, this group act upon impulse and instinct. This group does not plan and will respond to messages
relating to missing opportunities and impulse buying which I shall do my making my game really interesting and
new. My game will not be geodemographic due to the fact that it is large and anybody can play it but I researched
up areas in the uk which do well for games and I will want to focus my games around these areas. The aim of my
game is too be very relaxing and enjoyable.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
During this year, I have made a game before, I have learned how to use Photoshop and draw in pixels and
animate using timelines. I have learned how to make walk cycle animations and to make videos move more
smoothly and I will use these to make my game up too high grade potential. I have also learned how to make 2D
objects seem more 3D even making isometric which may come to use for this new project to make it more realistic
and interesting for the audience. My video from the earlier project was a 1st person thriller in which you would
escape from a room by solving puzzles, This was too engage the audience which I will trying to be doing this time
even though I am going for something completely different and new to me this time with adventure. Not many skills
I have learned previously will come to help with this task so I am going to go on YouTube and look up new tutorials
as well as getting help from other sources which I have done ad found out many new methods, tools and software
all of which are useful. I chose to do a video game because I really like the idea of it and think that with my first one
I got a good grade but I believe that I can expand that idea even more.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My concept for my game is going to be an adventure genre open world area with puzzles and quests to do around
the place video game, it will be similar to monkey island in some aspects, I have chosen this because from my
audience research I found this was the best idea that people who play video games generally like or prefer. I really
want to engage the audience and interest them. The character will spawn in and immediately will be engaged in an
intricate story and then once done will be able to free-roam on the map and explore doing other interactive options.
The research I have conducted started with looking at existing products, the existing products were generally
useful and I could see what were good ideas to use for my video game idea. Then I moved on to doing a survey on
the website survey monkey this helped me to decide on certain parts of my game due to the audience choosing
what they liked more. Once this was all done to top it off I did individual interviews, I decided to do 3 of these, the
interview questions required much more detail so I could really understand and form my idea. The final part off my
research was production experiments, the experiments allowed me to develop certain skills and practice for my
final product so I can get it right in the end.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
For evaluating I plan to write about the processes I went through after every day of production when I come to
creating it, I will also write about how I think it looks and any strengths and weaknesses/improvements that I would
make to get the best grade possible. Another way of evaluating will be my progress diary which I write at the end of
every week about everything I have done and learned in detail and include images as well to reference my work
throughout the week. The final part of a project is evaluating on an actual PowerPoint, I will self-evaluate the whole
project in great detail as well as allowing some feedback from different viewers just to get my game to peak
condition. This will help me to improve and make things better when I move on to making another project in the
future. Evaluations are really important and finish/close off a project which is why I will really focus on this and not
lose interest towards the end.

Schedule
WEEK OVERALL PLAN SPECIFIC TASKS
1 Initial Response
+ Proposal
Complete my initial plans for the project talking about ideas
and mood boards about what I might want to create.
2 Product +
Audience
Research
For this week, I will be doing audience research to make up a
clear decision of what I want to make and the audience I will
have but I can make little tweaks to it later on, all of this is
just further planning in lots of detail I will even include
audience facts.
3 Production
Experiments
Complete my experiments which I will be making many
practice products for the final production process. I will also
reflect upon these products for practice later on.
4 Pre-Production
and Planning
Do my proposal finishing off the idea and going into the
project with a solid idea and then do my planning deciding on
specific things such as colours and fonts that I shall be using.
5 Production To start of my production in the first week I will create my
background and whole world with detailed graphics on a
large-scale Photoshop document. This will get the project set
up and is a main factor that I want to focus on which is why I
am starting with this.
6 Production Next part of my production, I will this week create my
characters and the walk cycle to get the game more settled
then I can decide on how to animate it and finish it from
there.
7 Production I will create all of my sound effects and music as well as
starting part of the animation process which will continue in
to the next week.
8 Production The last week of production will involve finishing my
animation and then adding all of the sound effects over the
video, if I have time because I might have to go over things
again to make sure that it’s perfect then I will make a game
case and poster to place alongside with the game.
9 Evaluation Whilst working on my editing I shall also do a reflection every
day to talk about what I have done. Finally, the last task I am
going to carry out will be my evaluation in which I self-
evaluate myself for the entire project as well as getting some
peer feedback.
10 Development +
Contingency
This is the final week where I will look upon all the feedback
that I have gotten and given myself and then I will change my
product and make improvements if anything actually needs
changing.
