- Since 11gR2 there is a parameter parallel_force_local and is default false QC may decide to run parallel slaves on multiple instances Setting it to true will restrict the slaves to operate the same instance We found that the hard way – N+1, database services, session queuing
- Parameter has been introduced in 11gR2 to allows parallel queries to run on multiple RAC nodes. For example QC may decide to run some of the parallel slaves across the other nodes. Once set to TRUE it will limit the parallel slaves to the same instance where QC resides.

- The customer was running 11.2.0.3 and we migrated to 11.2.0.4 Customer was expecting not much to be changed and db will run the same way

- After that a couple of baselines and sql profile thing look much better Make sure you’ve got AWR repository retention set to at least a month. We had to import baselines for reports which we run just once or twice. There was one report which was still running for 3hrs and we couldn’t do anything. It turns out that it has been like that for years but the operators are killing the job each night.
