crowding noise, natural disasters
⢠Cognitive- The way you perceive a situation
⢠Personal behavior- Negative reaction in the body or
mind caused by using tobacco, alcohol, or drugs,
or not exercising
⢠Life situation- Dealing with lifeâs ups and downs
5. Stages of Stress on the Body
⢠Stage 1
â Alarm
⢠Is the stress response, when the body goes on high alert.
⢠Adrenaline,âemergency hormoneâ is secreted by the adrenal
glands to prepare the body to respond to the stressor.
⢠Fight or flight mode
6. Stage 2
⢠Resistance
â When the body tries to repair its damage from the
stressful event and return to normal.
â Physical resistance to the stressor reaches its peak.
This is why people involved in extremely high stress
situations have been known to accomplish incredible
feats of strength.
â If the stage continues for too long, both body and
mind may show ill effects.
