patterns, or of swelling or
warping.

• Bridget Riley/Tate + 759 2 ril:
talks about the importance of contrast of monochromatic colours in order to
create strong or dramatic optical effects.
• Tends not to use colours

12. Task 2a – Idea Generation
[individual]
• Artist face with outer silhouette along with selected artwork
within the centre
• Multiple artworks by multiple artists –monochromatic?
• Single artwork or picture of artist?
• Portrait
• My plan
Use monochromatic pictures either from Bridget Riley or from
Victor Vasarely however use sections of different monochromatic
artworks. Or keeping it simple with a white background the
geometric silhouettes that can easily stand out.

14. Task 2b – Action Plan/Schedule
• I plan to start by doing simple designs using Microsoft PowerPoint with
simple shapes which then can be taken into photoshop and improved
through trial and error.
• I will also try mixing coloured and non-coloured images together to see if the
effect works along with other poster designs where the coloured and the non-
coloured are kept separate.

• Looked at my 3 simple designs. From this in one of my designs I decided
to include monochromatic and coloured images in order to give the image
in interesting effect. I also added in other PNG images giving the poster
more depth to make it more complex. However in my opinion this did not
quite work for me, so I designed another poster in the complete opposite
style. An almost minimalist style. I chose to use only a monochromatic
image, and this gave the poster a very clean effect allowing it to be visually
pleasurable. From this my plan changed through trial and error

20. Task 5 – Evaluation – Problem
Solving
• poster too cluttered – solved this through trial and error changing the poster
up dramatically seen in the 2 examples
• lack of area to write information- using a minimalist style it gave me the
space to add writing quite easily without creating a mess.
• Using coloured images also seemed to cluster the image more- used
monochromatic images only to create a visually simple but pleasing design.

21. Task 5 – Evaluation – Working with
others
• Choose three aspects of your production where you worked well with your
team and this benefited the project
• 1 each of us happily delegated ourselves offering to do set roles such as
research online or research books
• 2 we all had different ideas so it allow for an increased number of different
ideas.
• 3 everyone understood how to use the software so there was no bottlenecks

22. Task 5 – Evaluation - Feedback
• Original design was too busy and was visually confusing so I decided to start
again keeping things simple in order to make it visually attractive poster.
• Overall I'm happy how the final poster turned out. Along with help from
classmates with them choosing specific fonts title and online research.

23. Task 5 – Evaluation – Active
Engagement
By assigning roles to each person everyone helped with different ideas and
solving problems.
Issues such as which font and what title were solved through Active
Engagement from everyone in the team (Thea, Lauran and James)

24. Task 5 – Evaluation
Accessing and storing information
• Take a book from the college library and show them your lanyard id card
and the librarians will take your details and then you can walk out with the
book.

Accessing and storing information
• When my work is finished I save it to my personal USB and then upload it to
blogger

• If my USB does not work I save it to one drive using my school email
allowing it to but used on mac and windows computers.

27. Task 6 - How do you learn best?
According to set questions I'm considered a visual learner however for me I
believe I have traits from different characteristics. I'm not sure I fit directly
into a section as I'm not easily distracted by anything specific. I just like to get
on and finish the task. when studying for my a-levels I used many different
techniques using visual, auditory and kinesthetic methods. I don't believe I'm
fixed in a category as I also share some weaknesses from multiple areas along
with some strengths.

28. Task 6 - How do you learn best?
• What makes it hard for you to study?
If it is something I hate doing it becomes a chore and I work slower .
• What strategies do you think would benefit your studies?
• Try to enjoy things or take a positive outlook on different tasks I'm less comfortable
with so I work more efficiently
