What is nutrition (information about plants).
1. 1. What is nutrition?
Nutrition is the provision, to cell and organisms, of the materials necessary (in the form of food) to
support life.
2. What is photosynthesis?
Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy, normally
from the sun, into chemical energy that can be used to fuel the organisms' activities.
3. What does it require?
Carbon dioxide, water and light.
4. What parts of the cell are involved?
In plants and algae, photosynthesis takes place in organelles called chloroplasts.
5. What is absorbed and released during photosynthesis?
Absorbed: Carbon dioxide (CO2), water (H2O) and light.
Released: Sugar (C6H12O6) and oxygen (O2).
