• A hybrid film is two genres merged into one film to
create a new genre eg. Romantic comedy.
t
This film is a clear hybrid of horror comedy.
We know this by the familiar comedy style
actors and the image has a funny side to it.
Also the costume as he is in a suit shows it is
going to be different.
The title “shaun of the dead” the word
“dead” has a hand creeping out of it which
portrays it as scary and creepy.
Hybrid genre brings new
audiences and creates a
completely new style.
7. GENRE OVER TIME…
Genre is a repetition throughout the film industry. Films are always
shown in a specific genre however films can be classed as a hybrid
e.g.: Romantic Comedy. This is becoming more and more popular
within films.
Genres change over time and there are certain genres that are
more frequently used. For an example if you visited the cinema now
you would see many comedy films over a war film. So it all depends
what is popular.
