Opening:
The regularmeetingof Roshni foundationdulycalledandheldon7th
March,2016 at Hotel Marcleis
conference room,commencingat9:00am.
Present were:

Withthe approval of the directorspresent, AmbreenZahraactedas Chairmanof the meetingand
Maryum Arshadrecordedthe minutes.
1. Approval of Agenda
The agendaof thismeeting“AREVIEW UOPNPUNJABASSEMBLY BILL FOR TAHAFUZ E NISWAN”
was unanimouslyapprovedasdistributed.
2. Approval of Minutes
The minutesof the previousmeetingwere unanimouslyapprovedasdistributed.
3. Announcements
 Departmentof fundallocationnow willbe headunderthe supervisionof Miss.IsmaNizam
 Miss.Zahra now will be actas representativeof Roshni Foundationindealingwithother
Agencies
 More Fundwill be allocatedforthe bettermentof Rularareaswomen
 Miss Maryum will checkoutthe implementationof decisionmade hereinthismeetingandshe
will reportthistothe CEO of Roshni Foundation.

Miss Maryum Arshadstartedthe discussionbyappreciatingthe role of governmentforthe
developmentof women.She furtherexclaimedsatisfactiononrecentlawswhichwere passedfor
Pakistani women.
Miss Zartashaalso showedpositive attitude towardthe steps takenbywomendevelopment
authorityof Pakistan.She saidthese stepswillbe prove fruitfullforPakistanaswomenof
Pakistannoware givenequal opportunitiesinsociety.
Miss Ismapinpointedthe majorprobleminimplementingthese laws.She focused onawareness
aboutwomenrightsas mostof the ratio amongwomenisilliterate.She furtherexplainedhow
these lawsare onlygivingbenefittoanespecial classof Pakistansociety
Miss AmbreenZahraalsoappreciatedthe governmentrole forwomenempowermentbuther
majorfocusedwasuponthe societynormswhichmake itdifficulttoimplementtheselaws.
MissMaryum’spoints:
 She appreciatedthe struggle done bythe PunjabAssemblyCommittee whichare beingcarried
on for9 monthsand finallyamendedafter aseriesof meetings.
 She was 90% in favorof thisBill asit provides opportunityforwomentotake control of their
ownlife &live accordingto theirownvalues.
 She focuseduponthe libertywhichwomen have gotten the powertomake decisionsandhave
theirvoicesheard,andto negotiate andchallenge societal normsandcustoms.
Miss Zartasha’s Points:
 She made her focus upon the international laws which provides liberty to women and relates
Punjabassemblybillwithinternational credibility.
 She also persuaded to form a committee who will especially work for negotiation upon women
image insouthAsiaat international level.
Miss Isma’s points:
 She pointed out the norms which are prevailing in Pakistan society and will cause a hurdle in
implementingPunjabAssemblybill.
 She talked about the feudalism which contributes toward the worst ranking of Pakistan for
womenlibertyinthe world.
 Her major focus upon education of women in Pakistan and she provoked to raise awareness
amongPakistani womenregardingtheirrights.
Miss Ambreen’s Points:
 She pointedoutthe negative impactof thisbill in Pakistan’ssociety where amajorpart of
womenisdependent.

4.  She talkedaboutthe misuse of thisbill bysome special classof societythroughwhich negativity
exceedonly.
 She was desirousof empowermentnot onlywomenbutthe othersuppressedpartof our society
Some action plans have been made in this meeting are as follows:
 A committee willbe formedwhosetaskistoraise awarenessamongurbanwomenfortheir
rights.
 Thiscommittee shall holdatleastone meetingineverythree monthsandshall regulateits
procedure.
 Technical educationprogramswill be startedinrulerareasforwomensothattheywill be
able to standat equal insociety.
 Differentdelegateswill be senttolowerPunjab&Sindhareas.Theirmajorfocuswill be on
raisingawarenessregardingeducationof women&itwill workforprotectionof aggrieved
women.
 A teamwill be createdforgatheringfundsfor ROSHNIFOUNDATION underthe supervision
of MissAmbreenZahra
5. New Business
 To be strongit will be worthwhiletomerge withotherNGOswhoare also focusingonsame
issues.
 Alongwithwomenempowermentplan,RoshniFoundationalsowill focusonabolishing
childlabor.
6. Agenda for Next Meeting
In the nextmeetingfollowingissueswillbe discussed:
 Performance of ROSHNIfoundationinimplementinggovernmentstepsforwomen
empowerment.
 Resultsof mergerwithotherNGOs
 Role of Roshni Foundationindisseminationof abolishing humantrafficking
 Focus on schemesof QARZ –E-HASNA forwomenof rulerareas.
