Rome is the capital of Italy and the largest city, with over 2.7 million residents within its city limits. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe, originally serving as the capital of the Roman Kingdom, Republic, and Empire. Rome played a pivotal role in the development of Western civilization.
1. Rome is the capital of Italy and also of the Province
of Rome. With 2.7 million residents in 1,285.3 km2
(496.3 sq mi), it is also the country's largest and
most populated city and fourth most populous city
in the European Union
Rome is one of the oldest cities in Europe . In the
ancient world it was successively the capital city of
the Roman Kingdom, the Roman Republic and the
Roman Empire, and it is considered as one of the
birthplaces of Western civilization.

2. SECURITY
• In Rome ,as in most European cities, your security is a fact, but
you must be careful about the pickpocketers, who will try to
steal your valuable things. Howeber you can prevent this
situation easily watching after your things and trying not to
separe them from you. If you have any problem you can trust
the police, they will try to solve your problems if they can.
3. SIGHTSEEING
If you go to Rome you can´t return home without visiting those three
monuments:
o The Colosseum, a construction from the Roman Empire in which
gladiators fought against slaves and wild animals. Nowadays you
can do a tour arond it and watch its most important places.
o Trevi Fountain, which is one of the bigest Baroque fountains in the
world and of course it´s a beautiful monument.
o Vatican City: the home of the Catholic Church. There you can find
the Saint Peter´s square, the Sistine Chapel or the Apostolic Palace,
among other beautiful monuments.
4. OTHER THINGS TO DO
• As you know, Rome is the city of fashion and there are lots of
shops of the most famous designers in the world, so if you have
money you should try that.
• One of the things you must do before leaving Rome is trying a
good pizza. Rome is the best place in the world to do that and
you can´t loose this oportunity.
• You can also walk through the city center, which is beautiful
itself, without refering to the monuments I said before.
