Main Achievements
development including the switching, transmission, outside plant ducts & cabling
end to end from exchange to subscriber premises. During my 25 years of
network development the number of fixed lines have increased by more than 10
fold to reach the 360k today. Fibre was introduced for business (FTTB) and in
the access network as FTTC and also to mobile sites. Later FTTH was
introduced and is being accelerated for the next 3 years to cover the whole
island.
When MT became an integrated operator there was mainly the 2G network and
under my tenure of office the 3G & 4G have been launched and coverage
expanded to reach 90% and 25% respectively while 2G network have been
densified. The number of sites has also increased more 5 folds to reach more
than 300 sites. A 4G network was launched to cover entirely the Rodrigues
island.
During my term of service the internet was launched in Mauritius and for that we
had to develop the network to provide the internet service. I was responsible for
the introduction and putting in service of IP-DSLAM (1st in the Orange Group),
the IP Backbone and was associated with all relevant equipment like Broadband
Random Access servers (BRAS), RADIUS, devices for customers etc.
I was responsible for the Conception, Construction & Launched of Rose Hill Data
centre for cloud services. I was also associated with the business development
of this new service including the putting in service of the cloud portal together
with the IS team. I have also been fully responsible for the conceptualization and
design of the new Data Centre at Rose Belle, which has reached implementation
stage.
I have been responsible for the MT’s Drawing office and redesign the office to
digitalise all the MT duct, cable and building plans. Today most of the plans are
fully digital and easy for amendment and are very handy for operation of the
whole network. I am responsible for the introduction, in Q4 2015, of the IP-
Multimedia Subsystems (IMS) for convergence of services in line with ALL-IP
Project & phasing out of PSTN services for voice. This will fuel Innovation owing
to all IP: Teleworking, connected objects, internet of things.
I have been responsible for the implementation of several service platforms like
Zebra, Data Billing System ( DBS), Value added services ( VAS) platforms, etc.
I have also been closely associated with the NICE project and have worked
towards setting up the network inventory, provisioning, fault management etc.
1. I was responsible for the cutting over of the Plaine Verte Exchange from
Port Louis and it happened with less than 1% errors for the thousands of
customers.
2. I was responsible for Introduction of many technologies which became
mainstream later on in the network such as FTTC.
3. I was closely linked to the Launch of MyT IPTV in 2006
4. I put in service the NGN switching in 2007
5. I have actively participated in the NICE project
6. Launch of 1st in the group IP-DSLAM, followed by FTTC for fixed

digits, which was a seamless migration with almost no complaints.
9. I was responsible for the Replacement of the IN (intelligent Network) by

customers with almost no complaints.
