catalyzed reaction at conditions that prioritize selectivity over conversion. In this case, unconverted methanol is recycled.

Feasibility study of Formalin production from methanol in the USA. Similarly to the process presented in the report “Formaldehyde
E11A”, the process examined in this report also uses silver catalysts, but at reaction conditions that prioritize full methanol
conversion. In this process, methanol recovery is unnecessary.
