Purpose: To network with other educators within the ISSN network within
your content area to design a task.
Driving Questions: How do I use the GPS performance outcomes in my
content area to help my students become both globally competent and
college ready?

Provide a brief overview of the module.
Description: What is happening across the International Studies School Network. This Module focuses on other ways to provide meaningful feedback to students. Remind participants that they were introduced to a few ways to provide feedback to students for tasks and unit designs, this module will go more in-depth within in area of feedback. It requires participants already understanding the basics of the performance outcomes, the graduate profile, and the instructional approach.
Have participants discuss their experience within the network.
Have individuals that attended GPS training discuss their experiences.

Outcomes and Expectations: Design a task with a group of individuals who teach in your content area including assessment and rubric. Bring student work samples for gallery walk for both October 16th and December 11th Regional ISSN meetings. Adopt a non-negotiated list of teacher expectations when designing task. Please bring for October 16th: Examples of student work that you deem promotes globally competency or college readiness.Copies of your content area performance outcomes/rubrics and anything else that would help with task design.

Discuss the purpose of the Summer Institute and have individuals identify types of conference sessions that would be most beneficial
Handouts include Program agendas for summer of 2009 and 2010.
Introduce the ISSN Matrix and purpose.
The ISSN Design Implementation Rubric is intended to assist educators who are part of the Asia Society’s International Studies Schools Network throughout all phases of the development of their schools. The Matrix Implementation Rubric:
Provides a blueprint for schools in planning, designing, and opening an ISSN school
Guides implementation and supports school wide reflection and self-assessment of implementation progress
Provides data needed to plan for continued growth and development as a Professional Learning Community from inception to sustaining a process of continuous improvement; and
Provides a framework for evaluating the effectiveness of the Asia Society ISSN design principles.
Discuss the wide range of expanded learning opportunities for students.
Discuss ways to connect or you have connected to schools in the network. i.e. school visits, teacher visits
