2. The Structure of the Prep
Year 5 - Numbers
• There will be five form entry in Year 5 next year
– Three forms moving through from Berkhamsted Prep
– One form of 12 pupils will move from Haresfoot
– We anticipate recruiting 20+ external pupils.
• Form sizes will be no greater than 20.
– Currently there are 65 pupils in 3 forms at the Prep
• Mathematics pupils will be setted for all pupils.
3. The Structure of the Prep
Year 5 – Class Composition
• Current Y4 Prep pupils will be reorganised into
the new form structure
– (This is what happens every year)
• Current Haresfoot Y4
– Some Y4 Haresfoot parents have opted for
full-integration.
– The majority of Haresfoot pupils will stay as a
class and will be joined by new entrants and
will be taught by a current Haresfoot teacher.

6. Playground Space
• Extra space will be

7. Year 5 French Trip
• The PGL residential
centre in Normandy,
can accept groups
of up to 100 pupils
• It is already booked
for Year 5 pupils in
May 2014
8. Year 6 Skern Lodge
• Skern Lodge have
confirmed they can
accept 100 pupils.
9. Drama and the School Play
• The School Play will
be just Year 6
• One hour of
specialist drama
teaching introduced
to the curriculum in
Year 5 in September
2013.

be required to

12. Reorganisation: Practical Issues

Bucks 11+ has changed significantly:
• Timing
– T 10th Sept - familiarisation
– Th 12th Sept - Test
– Offers go out mid Oct
– Parents will choose schools by 31/10/13
• Type of Questions
– Literacy and Numeracy – not just VR

16. Berkhamsted 11+ Entry
Prep School Pupils get “first dibs on the places”
• 11+ Examination for Internal Applicants will take
place in Michaelmas Term.
• Offers will go out to Internal Applicants before
External Applicants take the examination.
The increased Year group size will NOT affect a
pupil’s chance of getting into Berkhamsted Boys
or Berkhamsted Girls.
