Turnip is the code name for Qualcomm's open-source Vulkan driver being developed on Mesa3D in a reverse-engineering effort. In 2021, major improvements were made to Turnip including implementing many Vulkan extensions and fixing bugs, making it Vulkan 1.1 compliant for some Adreno GPUs. In 2022, the focus will be on improving real world use cases like running more Windows games via emulation and improving performance, as well as supporting features of upcoming Adreno GPUs.
