ICARUSNet The idea of ICARUSNet arise in the framework of ENArC project, while discussing the ways of developing common information platform which is one of project goals. Regarding Croatian State Archives experiences in building national archival information system which currently integrate more than 320 various institutions with 1050 active users, we tried to realize similar concept inside the ICARUS network. During 2011 we worked on software and hardware infrastructure of ICARUSNet program solution, and by the end of this year it will be ready for use for all interested ICARUS members. Through ICARUSNet portal archives can promote professional standards and best practices in managing archival material. It provides processing the records and on-line publishing of descriptive metadata, based on international standards for archival description, in all archival institutions. This system also facilitates standardization and harmonization of practices and improves the accessibility of records.
