Level 3: Read the examples and rank order them
best to worst. Which are common sense and
which use evidence

Level 4: Mark each one- where are they using
terminology and EVIDENCE. Which is the best
and why?
5mins: Introduction:

What are your case studies- how are they different, what are the key words in the
question that you will explore, what are some key changes in the music industry
that have effected the issues in the question?

USE AS MUCH TERMINOLOGY HERE AS YOU CAN

Pick one of the following questions and write an introduction:

What significance does the continuing development of digital media
technology have for media institutions and audiences?

“Media production is dominated by global institutions, which sell their
products and services to national audiences.” To what extent do you agree
        with this statement?

What role does technology play in targeting audiences in the media area
        you have studied?
NEW DEFINITION CHALLEGE

Fragmented Audiences The way in which texts are not only consumed by
media audiences, but the way media audiences
interact with media text in the digital age (issues of
                          piracy, technologies, user-distribution/promotion).
Proliferation The most damaging type of piracy. This is when
music is hacked and stolen during the production
stage before the music has been distributed legally.

Convergence Marketing messages are addressed directly to the
customer and/or customers. Direct marketing relies
on being able to address the members of a target
                          market specifically.
Exchange Refers to a device that has more than one function.
This is where products have ‘converged’ into an all
                          in one device-egIphone.

Direct marketing The rapid growth. This could apply to content (the
music), hardware or technology in the music
                          industry

Pre-release piracy Modern audiences are increasingly separated and
may be split into sub groups and consume music in
                          a more personalised way.

Piracy- Why Pay When It’s Free?
The illegal downloading and sharing of music that infringes copyright.
The IFPI Digital Music Report 2010 suggested that for every track downloaded
legally there are another 20 that are illegal

TODAYs KEY TERMS P2P file sharing accounts for the largest amount of piracy globally.
There are hundreds of websites that allow consumers to download music
                                      illegally.
P2P P2P files has had a massive impact on the music industry and has meant
that a shift from ownership to access has emerged.

This is the most damaging type of piracy where tracks are
