REFERENCE: Olympia Shredder
Dear Valued Client:
Thank you for your recent purchase of the Olympia 155cc Cross-Cut shredder.
Like your car engine, your shredder will perform at its maximum efficiency with
periodic oiling. We suggest oiling your shredder at least once a week, either on
Friday before leaving or Monday when you show up. The crosscut shredder needs
more oiling than a strip cut as paper dust builds up inside the cutting assembly. After
time, this sediment can become packed together like cement. Oil serves to soften
this packed dust, which allows the movement of the cutting head. The proper
movement of this head will push the dust out of the paper shredder. The finer the cut
the paper shredder makes, the more oil it will need.
From talking to our clients over the years, it seems the biggest problem is not the
difficulty of oiling the machine; it is remembering to do so!
There are several procedures that are simple and can be done by any operator. A
quick, easy way that has worked for some is simply oiling a Z pattern on a sheet of
paper, and shredding it. Maybe several times if you haven’t done it in awhile.
The ONLY lubricant which should be used on your shredder is SHREDDER OIL. It is
a special formulation which leaves no residue on the cutters. Other oils [including
WD-40] will attract paper and in turn, clog the cutting head.
Let us know if you have any questions or need further information.
Thanks again for your past business and for allowing us to submit this proposal.
Thank you,
