Photo shoot planning
1. I plan to have the photo shoot in a public area; I have a few ideas in mind.
One of them being Summerhill, although this will have no link to our music
video. The scenery around summerhill is very natural and has a countryside
feel towards it due to the farms around it and grassland. At summerhill, there
are climbing rocks (which look just like natural rocks). I thought if the band
climb up as well as the person taking the photo, we could get the photo
standing up with the scenery behind us. Showing no emotion on our faces
could give the indie pop feel and the emotion from the song. Another idea I
had at summerhill was that we all sat on a high rock with our legs dangling
down, and then the photo is taken from below.
The
band will wear similar clothes to what we wore in our test photo shoot (but not
the same). Indie clothing will be worn to link to the genre of the band. Below,
is an image from our test photo shoot to give a general idea as of what
clothes we will be wearing. The typical jumper with a collar sticking out, a fluffy
coat and a big coat. We were also wearing skinny jeans but they could not be
seen.
2. Another location idea I had was in Ward Jackson Park. This is because it is
probably the cleanest and a personal favorite place in Hartlepool. It has such
a chilled out environment and I feel it would be a good idea do have the photo
shoot there. I plan to take the photo in the kid’s park that is situated there.
Sitting on swings, or a climbing frame. This is basically to get the immature
look, but keeping no emotion on our faces and the indie clothing. This will link
to the song “Not Nineteen Forever” linking with age and how Darren needs to
grow up.
We originally planned to our photo shoot in the studio at college with the
lights. We tried it but it just didn’t work, although we have an idea for the photo
that will be on our magazine advert. The photo below is a possible photo we
could use for the advert, taken from the test photo shoot. The darkness could
be linked to the name of the band “The All-nighters”. Nighttime – Darkness.
The photo will be re-taken in the same style but including the full band.
3. There are a few bands that inspired our photo shoot. One of them being Two
Door Cinema Club. The photo shown below is something we are inspired
from. Although it is a rather simplistic photo, it does have the indie clothing
and the main singer is central of the photo gaining most of the limelight. Also
the emotion shown on the bands face, the blank emotion look that we are
aiming for.
The photo is a photo of The Courteeners (The band whose song we used).
We also gained inspiration and ideas for our photo shoot using photos like
this. Notice how they’re looking away and not at the camera, we decided to
use this in our test shoot and some of the photos were similar to this one.
