- Hi everyone, many thanks for coming to my talk. My name is Patrick Meier and my mission over the past six years has been to create linkages between the humanitarian community and the technology space. Humanitarian organizations are still lagging far far behind in technology adoption. And technology companies are rarely thinking of how their technology could potentially revolutionize the humanitarian space. So this is where I come in. For my talk today, I want to share with you some unique innovations in humanitarian technology as applied to crisis mapping and more specifically satellite imagery analysis for crisis response. Lets begin by placing these innovations into context.
