We are bombarded with content at every moment
of the day. And because of this, our bull**** radar
is better than ever. We can easily distinguish the
heavily promoted, spammy stuff from the relevant,
quality content.
How? We consider the source. Who’s telling us to
do what? If we believe in what they’re saying, we
buy into it. If we don’t, we move on to the next.
1. AUTHENTIC
You can write the most thought-provoking content
and ask the right questions, but if people aren’t
responding to it, are you really being “engaging?”
Read the room. If people aren’t responding to your
message, maybe it’s time to change the delivery?
2. ENGAGING
If you’re not crazy about what you’re selling,
how can you expect others to be? When you are
passionate about something, whether it’s a product
or message, your authenticity will shine through
and people will believe what you have to say.
3. PASSIONATE
Face it, you are not the best at every single thing. Surround yourself with people who know
more than you do. It will help to create your dream team, and you will become unstoppable.
Also, be able to poke fun at yourself. There’s nothing more authentic than being vulnerable.
4. HUMBLE
You can’t say something once and expect everyone
to get it. What is your brand message? Are you
staying true to that, or are you acting in a way
that contradicts?
5. CONSISTENT
Have a point of view. A third of people are going to
like you, a third are going to hate you, and a third
aren’t going to care what you’re doing. The point
is that you aren’t going to appeal to everyone.
Service the community that likes you. If you try to
please everyone, you’ll end up pleasing no one.
6. STRONG-WILLED
Use your voice responsibly. If you are in the
limelight, people will be paying attention to what
you have to say. Always speak on the side of
progress. If you have the opportunity to bring
about positive change, do so.
7. PROGRESSIVE
