Music has been changed by replacing the bass drum
and the ukulele with the guitar tambourine and old
tail pipes from cars.

Virgin Islands foods provide you with plenty of great
choices . Choices in foods in the Virgin Islands are
great; you can find just about every kind of cuisine
here. Some examples are Fungi small dumpling like
things. Also there is Johnny cakes which
are deep-fried biscuits. Food costs more
due to shipping costs

 Mocko Jumbies: Colorfully costumed stilt dancers, like the one in the
picture above. They can be seen at carnival parades and other local
events. The word jumbie refers to ghost-like spirits of West African
belief.
 Quelbe
Is a style of music and dance. The musical sounds that are danced to
are made by scratching instruments made of hollowed out gourds. The
band is called a scratch band.
 Kenips
Is a type of fruit. They have a green outer shell and a fleshy edible meat
around a large seed inside.

In the Virgin Islands the poverty level is very high
with it being 28.9% (2002)
The life expectancy for an average woman in the
Virgin Islands is about 82 for men about76.
