Evaluate your skills and knowledge in relation to your chosen profession and discuss
how you intend to develop your skills in preparation for your career.

6. 20 minutes- Evaluate your skills and
knowledge in relation to your chosen career
What skills/ knowledge do you already have in pre-production, production and post-
production?
What communication and organisational skills do you have?
What skills/ experience and training do you need for your chosen career and how will
you gain those skills?
Explain 5 steps you need to take in order to achieve your chosen career.
8. Open up your media practitioner report
from last year – 30 mins
Some of you may need to add to it if you haven’t written a lot.
Copy and paste this into your report and read over it to add to it or correct it.
What skills, experience and knowledge does your practitioner have?
Why do you aspire to be like them?
Why do you want to pursue a career in the same field?
9. Complete your assignment with references
and formatted correctly- 1 hour
If you have met your targets for each session you should have completed all of your sections.
Go over your report and present it in professional academic standards.
Add a bibliography
Ensure you have an introduction and conclusion
Ensure you have referenced correctly throughout (if not find references to link to your work).
12. Research TASK- 20 mins
Find 2 job advertisements and screenshot them for your career plan
Write about the skills, knowledge and educational skills needed for the careers
13. Career Plan- Evaluation- 20 mins
Underneath your descriptions of those careers:
Evaluate your skills, knowledge and educational skills you currently have and those
you require for those careers.
Draw comparisons using your strengths and weaknesses to evaluate your ability to
perform each role.
14. Write in your career plan- 50 mins
What do you intend to do over 4 years to achieve your goals?
Write a year by year breakdown of how you intend to:
-Gain further training
-Gain experience
-Apply for Careers
-Develop your skillset and knowledge in technologies and production methods
-Attend networking events and training events
-Complete CPD (short courses)
Compare your development in an educational and professional
context.
16. Produce a Record- put together a folder
containing
CV
Linked in profile and front page with information (screenshots and link)
Show reel (if you have one) or links to your youtube account and videos (screenshots
and link)
Work experience you have undertaken in film (should be on CV)
Certificate copies for training or qualifications related to media

19. Read over all of your Career plan and report
to ensure that you are ready for your
interview next week
Your interview will need to:
Evaluate your own personal and professional development
Present future planning in the lead up to gaining the career and how you will
develop in the role
Analyse your future development plans in relation to the role
Discusses your skill set in relation to the role and other roles
Evaluates changes in the industry and how you would need to adapt in your role.
20. In Pairs- Interview the other person
Use the grading criteria to guide your questioning
Aid the other person with areas they need to develop (give them tips and advice)
Refer to your notes at this stage if you need to.
