2. Twitter 101
Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging
service that enables its users to send and read messages
known as tweets .
SMS of the Internet
Tweet Content: News, spam, self-promotion, nonsense,
conversation
Technology:
Simple interface.
Web-based Internet Relay Chat (IRC) client.
Open API:
Applications: social networking, politics, news, protest,
public relations
Quickly becoming one of the most popular websites.
3. Twitter Lists
"Group" feature: Organize the people you’re following on
Twitter, and find new people.
Snapshot of the things those users are saying by viewing
that list’s page, which includes a complete tweet stream for
everyone on the list.
Other Twitter users can then subscribe to your lists. This
means lists have the potential to be an important new
discovery mechanism for great tweets and accounts.

5. List Applications
Organize those that you follow (e.g. family, friends, work,
media, education, news, entertainment, sports, politics).
Share those you follow with others.
Follow those that you ARE NOT following.

1. Sign in to Twitter
2. Click “New List” in your Twitter sidebar.

3. Enter a name for the list. (See next screen shot.)
4. Select Public or Private, depending if you want to share your
list or not.

Add people to the list:
1. Go to a person’s page either by searching, entering URL or
clicking the name from within Twitter.
2. Click "Lists".
3. Select the checkbox(es) to add the person to list(s).
