Srinivasa Ramanujan was a mathematician from India who showed extraordinary talent in mathematics from a young age, often solving complex formulas for fun with no formal training. He struggled in his studies due to his lack of discipline but was admired by teachers for his math abilities. After marrying, he sent some of his work to mathematicians in England who were impressed and offered him a scholarship. However, living in England proved difficult for Ramanujan as he struggled with the food, climate, and isolation. He fell ill and ultimately returned to India, where he later died in 1920. Despite his short life, his work in mathematics helped physicists and contributed to calculating Pi.
