Treasury section Head
ACE Group is one of the world’s largest multiline property and casualty insurers. With operations
in 54 countries, ACE provides commercial and personal property and casualty insurance,
personal accident and supplemental health insurance, reinsurance and life insurance to a diverse
group of clients.
I am directly reporting to Chief financial officer (CFO). I’m responsible for cash and liquidity
management, risk management related to company’s financial activities, Customer Credit
Management and treasury operations and controls.
In short, my responsibilities can be pointed as follows:
1- Cash and Liquidity Management:
• Managing daily cash balances and trading in the financial markets.
• Ensuring that the company’s cash flow is adequate to allow it to operate effectively.
• Forecasting cash payments and anticipating challenges arising from limited cash flow
and perform financial modelling.
• Evaluate, develop and implement cash management systems to optimize efficiencies.
• Manage payments by cheque, international wire, Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT).
• handling all internal management portfolio.
2- Risk Management
• Undertaking risk management activities to protect Company’s financial well-being.
• Providing advice on financial matters impacting on the company as a whole.
• Maintain a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control
over treasury activities.
3- Treasury Operations
• Manage, direct, and develop Treasury staff.
•Identifies specifications for reports and participates in their development or enhancements.
• Cooperates with internal and external auditors; sees to the follow-up to audit recommendations.
• Providing advice to other departments on payment instruments and collaterals
• preparing weekly and monthly reporting (cash flow – supplier aging – cash projection)
• preparing daily bank reconciliation.
4- Investment management:
• Keeping up to date with market developments, new investment products and all other
areas that can affect the markets, e.g.
• Considering how the economic implications of factors such as natural disasters, weather,
wars, etc. might affect the performance of companies and funds.
• Ensuring that all compliance regulations are met.
• Managing all internal investment portfolios (restricted and unrestricted).
• Managing all issues with investments agents (EFG – Belton – banks)
• Keep up with all market prices for all investment types.

Treasury Manger Assistant
Egyptian group is a group of leading companies in the medical Industry in Egypt established since
1983 with a unique company in dialysis field, now the group contains 7 companies with working
capital 350 M pound.
I managed a team of 6 people and I am directly reporting to the treasury manger. My areas of
scope are, beside a main focus on Treasury activities, related to Credit, Payroll, and Employees’
Saving Fund.
It is within my responsibilities to support Business Development throughout external growth, and I
play major roles in financial evaluation and risk analysis. In short, my responsibilities can be
pointed as follows:
1- Cash and Liquidity Management:
•Managing daily cash balances.
• Reviewing and negotiate all credit terms of the suppliers and the due dates of their payment.
•Ensuring that the company’s cash flow is adequate to allow it to operate effectively.
•Forecasting cash payments and anticipating challenges arising from limited cash flow and
perform financial modelling.
•Evaluate, develop and implement cash management systems to optimize efficiencies.
•Manage payments by cheque, international wire, Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT).
•Managing all over drafts line and assure that it works in the right track.
•Monitoring the due dates of the loans installments by lines.
• investing the surplus of cash with the best investment type and the highest interest rate.
2- Reporting
•Preparing weekly and monthly (cash flow – supplier aging – cash projection)
•Preparing daily and monthly bank reconciliation.
•Preparing daily Cash position and the available cash.
3- Risk Management
•Undertaking risk management activities to protect Company’s financial well-being.
•Use hedging to mitigate financial risks related to the interest rates on the company’s
borrowings, as well as on its foreign exchange positions.
•Providing advice on financial matters impacting on the company as a whole.
•Maintain a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control
over treasury activities.
•Evaluate alternative long-term borrowing strategies and make recommendations in
accordance with the capital structure guidelines.
• Monitor the DSO and DIO and the cash conversation cycle of the company and make the
recommendations of enhancing the ratios.
4- Treasury Operations
•Manage, direct, and develop Treasury staff.
•Identifies specifications for reports and participates in their development or enhancements.
•Cooperates with internal and external auditors; sees to the follow-up to audit recommendations.
•Providing advice to other departments on payment instruments and collaterals.
•Negotiating loan or overdraft terms with banks.
•Liaising with bankers and maintaining positive working relationships.
•Monitor bank service fees and address quality issues.
•Conduct benchmark studies of banks and their services to evaluate whether it fits Company’s
requirements.
5- Trade finance
• Monitor the outstanding inventory with supply chain department.
•Review the new requests of the goods with the supply chain department from the supplier
and assure that all the new request are adequate with the bank docs.
•Provide the supply chain department the method of getting the goods due to the bank
facilities
• Making the LCs of the new goods and follow up with banks.
• Follow up the IDCs and the DC’s positions.
• Review the settlement of IDCs and the DC’s with banks.
Best Achievements:
Helped the company to Earn 5 million pounds from making hedging deal with the bank
which reflects on the liquidity of the company.
 Helped the company to solve cash flow problems with making hedging deals and get a
lot of bank facilities.
 Make a lot of relationships with many banks like (NSGB- Credit Agricol- Arab African
Bank – Abo Dhabi El Watany)
April 2007 till Nov 2009 (LTC). Leadership training and consultancy
Senior Accountant
LTC is the biggest training company in Egypt and the unique agent in Middle East for the big four
companies in Europe and America (Stephen R Covey – Ken Blanchard – Vital Smart – Door)
I was assuming the following responsibilities:
1- Make journal entries.
2- Follow up and record all payables and receivables.
3- Make cash flow.
4- Review all budgeted expenses.
