  • Bo introduce the Kahlil walk through the next few slides? Bo: “We speak of ‘gambling’ as if it were a monolith, and often with strong regard for the social sciences, but only passing mention of the business sciences. In fact, there are many different ways in which the ‘gambling act’ can be commodified, and we need to recognize that – for the purposes of conferences like this one, that focus on social impacts – not all forms are created equal.”
  • Here, we might mention that even worse than this form is illegal gambling? (Though I know this isn’t as simple as it sounds)?
  • Here, Bo might mention a) the rise of the most expensive private sector buildings ever constructed (these are that latest, biggest IRs, unless my math is off), and b) the Singapore story/background/objectives of the Singaporean government (contrasted with other jurisdictions like Canada).
  • Is this where I can include the CoRE architecture story?
  • Japan note: increases in crime rates similar to those of a Puro Yakyu baseball or J-league soccer game; or an Olympics/World Cup
  • Also mention the LINQ? Can we have a picture of this?
  • Situation where they have all of the costs (second largest gambling market on earth, trailing only Macao), but none of the RG benefits.
