Selection of Group 3 tool
“Select the presentation tool you believe is of most use
in your classroom. Return to your blog posting. Explore
the tool in greater depth - creating and embedding a
sample, and identifying the learning purposes you will
use it for in your own teaching context. Consider also
any difficulties you may have experienced in using the
tool. Remember, adding a thinking routine such as a
SWOT or PMI to start your ideas rolling will ensure
that you are analytical, rather than just descriptive.”

Group 4 Tools: What are they?
Group 4 tools are animations and simulations that can
be used to support and enhance what is being taught.
These are often a virtual experience that can be made
accessible to the students.
Learning Objects
 Learning Place examples:

 Pedagogy is important when using these tools.
 They are not games with no purpose
 They have content, HOTS and need to be used
frequently with some students
 Can be used for assessment of curriculum learning
 Many embedded in C2C units- lesson plans
 Maybe bypassed by Ipad apps?

“Animations and Simulations offer substantial advantages
over print based material when it comes to complex
interactions and abstract concepts. They can also offer a
virtual experience where the real thing is too expensive or
difficult to provide for the students. Animations and
simulations are Web-based so they can be made accessible
for the students use anytime and anywhere rather being
restricted to the classroom.
It is important, as ever, to consider the learning purpose of
these interactive resources. They do not, on their own,
constitute learning. It is your wisdom as a teacher and
learning designer to embed them into a larger learning
context.”
