Event Report - OpenStack 2016 - Austin
• Back to ‘roots’ to Austin – where it all started with 75 attendees, now 7500
• Launched certification effort
• Traction in Telco / NFV space – AT&T and Verizon on stage
• Traction in ISV Space – SAP presented, Workday mentioned
• Run OpenStack in containers – may solve know how issue
• Mitaka – User Experience, Manageability, Scalability
• Vibrant ecosystem, tons of startups and new services offerings
Summary: Good keynotes, more an enterprise conference, more
executives, OpenStack is growing up.

• OpenStack has overcome the HP exit well
• What works: NFV / SDN for Telco // ISV Cloud // IaaS with statutory twist
• Updates from WalMart and WellsFargo are encouraging
• Good to see certification effort
• Event almost like a little VMWorld – who is who of IT present
• Simplification and Usability are key
Summary: Good start of OpenStackSummit, good attendance,
