Grand Ambassador Hotel (Jangchung-dong), Orchid Room (19th Fl.)
Dear SKBC Members,
We kindly invite you and your guests to our Luncheon Meeting which will take place at the Grand
Ambassador Hotel on Thursday, February 17, 2011, 12.00h.
For this event Mr Hoh Kim, Founder & Head Coach of THE LAB h, will speak on the topic of
"Why we need to be 'cool'? How social media is changing
consumers vs. How corporate executives still stick to the old
paradigm".
Are you familiar with the "Streisand effect"? If not, you'd better to know what it is. Dunkin Donuts in
Korea didn't know the effect and they made a bad situation even worse, and now you can see this
case study in the chapter one of a famous book "Groundswell" published by Harvard Business
Review.
Social media is changing the way consumers interact with companies, and, accordingly, the way
companies handle different business situations. However, still, some corporate executives ignore the
changes and keep their 'wait and see' attitudes.
"Cool communication" is a new way for companies to better manage consumer communication in
the age of social media. Hoh Kim, Founder & Head Coach of THE LAB h, executive coaching firm
focusing on crisis communication and influence, will present how social media is changing Korean
consumers' perception towards companies. During the presentation, the results from Cool
Communication Study by THE LAB h in 2010 and 2011 will be shared with the participants.
