Online Education and Face to Face Education
Online education (also known as e–learning) is gathering momentum across all universities, all
disciplines and across all age groups of university students. Online education can be defined as
technology–based learning in which learning materials are delivered electronically to remote
learners via a computer network. A recent survey by Babson College [1] indicates in Fall 2014,
28% of students in U.S. were enrolled in a minimum of one online course. This is 3.7% higher
from the earlier year. This rising popularity can be attributed to many factor including (a) The rise
of technology and visualization tools to enhance the educational experience of students (b) The
demands from working professional for them to have flexibility in taking courses at any time so
that they can strike a balance between their educational goals and professional and personal lives
[2] (c) The rising tuition costs in face to face courses (d) The lack of classroom infrastructure in the
universities to accommodate high enrollment and more students in the campus (e) Learning at a
pace that is appropriate to the students skillset and (f) freedom for those who are overwhelmed or
feel stressful in the classroom environment.
This increasing popularity often translates to another question: Can online education replace face to
face education, in the coming years? My position on this, is that the face to face learning is more
effective, highly impactful, it has

Online Vs. Online Education
Introduction The biggest and the most powerful thing in the world today is education. Education
is one of the most dynamic things we do because its not just when its how. Education has
streamlined the way we do basic functions, it opens your mind to the world. This has led to the
biggest shift of all from the traditional classes to online classes. Traditional class is simply
showing up to school every day hearing a lecture whole time with minimal student participation if
the instructor does. Not encourage it. Most of us are better learners this way. Let's take online
classes no more class room instruction its reading articles, discussions, videos, and even just you
replying to something someone said. In the essay we will have a comparison and contrast
between online classes and traditional classes allowing us to open the door as to which of the
two is better. This will involve percent of people online vs traditional, social interaction, and
flexibility to find out what benefits the students the best way. Precent of students online vs
traditional "On line instruction has been growing at a fast pace over the last decade. In 2002 a
total of 1,602,970 students in higher education took at least one course online. By 2011 6,714,792
students took one or more online classes. This changes amounts to an increase of 318.9%, or a
4.189 to one ratio." (Allen & Seaman, 2013). Looking at the data we can see from the article it is
very evident that more and more people

Sitting alone and staring at a computer all day sounds like the worst possible way to gain an
education. Traditional schooling is better than online schooling because the students are able to
gain social skills, they will be prepared for when they graduate and get a job, public schooling
gives children more independence. There is a reason that traditional schools have survived all of
these years and that is because it is better for the student.
Some would say online schooling is better because the student do not have to keep track of their
school work. ВЁOnline schooling might be better for some students because of the more laid back
scheduling but when dealing with online schooling the student has to be able to keep up on their
work, some will just not do the work because they are comfortable at home. ВЁ ( Erstad). However
traditional schooling is better because the student is able to get one on one help, and they are able to
socialize also.
Traditional schooling helps kids gain social skills, ВЁ Traditional schools can help students
interact with diverse people to help you get ready for the real worldВЁ (Dalien). They learn how
to make friends at an early age, and they have face to face communication all day. Most importantly
is group projects, class discussions about topics that are being learned in the classroom. Even though
some students may not participate in the group discussions or talk in class they can still see how to

Infographic
In my Infographic, my main claim is still same as the argument I proposed in the Paper 3 which is
that online education is beneficial to students and the community. In the headline page, I used dark
gray as my background color because I want to give my audience a sense of elegant and solemn
feeling when they look on the topic of education. Even though my headline is so simple and just
uses two words "Online Education," I employed elaborate design around it. First, I highlighted
"Online" with yellow, which would give my audience a direct impression about the emphasis of this
topic. Also, the mouse and pencil next to the headline as well as the picture on both sides of the
headline crate a vivid image of online courses in the audience's mind before they read the following
information. Furthermore, I believe the subtitle just beneath the headline would be persuasive to
most of my audience because I used a strong tone in this sentence which said online courses is "the
easiest way to learn anything." While some of my audience might doubt this, it also stimulates their
interest to read the following information.
After the headline, I divided my argument of online education into three sections. In the first part, I
talk about the development of online courses. And I use MOOCs as a representative of the growth
and improvement of online courses because it was the most popular, wide–used, and recognizable
form of online education in recent years. Talking about the topic

Online Education Education is an important part of people's lives; it will either make them or break
them in the future depending on the careers they choose. Education is greatly diverse today in
comparison to the 1950s because of advancements in teaching and other great inventions that provide
easier techniques of teaching. One major issue that has been raised is distant learning courses and
online education. Distant learning could be any format from VHS videos, DVDs, or internet courses

For example, a child of a farmer can help the family out in the morning with the farming chores
then go to an online class later on. Rural kids may also take additional educational classes online
that their school does not provide. Children in the movie industry may also take online courses to
keep up with their studies while on the road filming movies. Hillary Duff takes online course while
she films.
As the price of education continues to rise, the rate of students applying for online educational
classes will continue to get greater. The price for a unit at Long Beach City College is $26 and
the price per unit will continue to rise as long as there is a deficit in California's budget. Online
courses provide a cheaper alternative for schools that have a problem with their budget and actual
classroom space. Teachers can also record themselves and the student can download the film if they
miss the session. This gives a student the chance to catch up on a class session if he missed out on
that day.
In 2002, 12 of the 55 National Geographic Bees were homeschoolers meaning that courses than at
home can provide a great teaching environment. Students do not have to put up with bad influences
from regular schooling and help build their own identity without social pressures that traditional
schooling may have. Some students may also earn their high school degree faster then their peers.

Online education has grown since it first came about, there are mixed views on whether it is truly
beneficial. The reasons for the huge growth of online education is money even though online
education targeted working adults that have little or no time to sit in a traditional classroom for
millions of men and women serving in the armed forces online education has made earning a degree
much more possible.

educators role, and the level of access to technology I agree that having a quality program is
important but still requires much effort from both student and teachers to ensure success of the
online program". This is also true for traditional classrooms the use of online education impacted
not only colleges but grade, middle, and high schools alike one of the biggest issues discussed on
the topic of online learning is age and maturity an article written by Sam Dillon talks about the use
of online learning in elementary and home schools. While I do agree with the statement made by
Tracie Weldie, a native from Milwaukee, which home schools her three kids than there is no reason
for Isabel to practice counting if she can already add not every child learns at the same rate and this

Discussion on issues is done in chat rooms and forums where everybody writes their views on the
issue. This is an advantage for foreigners who can not speak proper English correctly. Live video
and sound can also be done with special equipment for a real time conversation with instructors and
peers.
Other features on the online courses are the learning aides that can be used while taking the course.
Certain programs can be made such as flash cards and games which can increase the learning
experience of the student. These learning aides can be done on the student's time and does not
require the teacher to be there.
Time for a face to face class is very difficult if a person works 40 hours a week but an online course
can put an ease on the time restriction because the person does the work at their own pace and
time. It is also easier to sign up for an online class than a class at a college. Message boards are in
use if the students need to leave a question or a comment about the subject their on. They also save
time by not traveling to the college and trying to find a parking space.
Rural areas where students have to travel a great distance to get to class can save time and money

Benefits Of Online Learning Benefit Essay
In this globalised world, technology has been an important part of our society and our foreseeable
future. Online learning is believed to be one of the upcoming trends in the education sectors all
over the world as today's world has become a borderless world. Consequently, online learning will be
a better learning method in the future. This is because online learning can be done as long as there
have internet connection. However, does online learning greatly benefits students? From my point of
view, I partially agree that online learning greatly benefits students. This is because although online

Online learning has limited social interaction. This is because limited opportunities are provided for
students to interact face–to–face to professors and other students. Students may also have to face the
problem like they have to wait for hours for reply of professors to questions. This is because
professors are not always online. The professors may have their personal time to do their own things.
Apart from that, students are difficult to develop relationships with classmates when study online.
This is because students do not have the social interaction with their classmates. Hence, online
learning is a better choice for a shy person as they no need to worry about interacting with other
students. However, students will lose chance to have the opportunity to interact face to face with
their classmates or even work as teamwork with their classmates which can be helpful for their study
purposes when they study online. Through teamwork, students can learn the importance of
cooperation as according to Aristotle, "Man is by nature a social animal." Man's nature is such that
he cannot afford to live alone. No human being is known to have normally developed in isolation.
Online learning cannot provide the opportunity for students to learn about cooperation. This is
because most of the communications are through e–mail, chat room or discussion groups, but no
offline get–together. Thus, online learning

Persuasive Essay On Online Education
Online education is helping many students get a better education. This can be for many reasons.
Some reasons could include things like a more flexible schedule. Of course their are some that
believe that online schools are not a good option because they do not offer students face to face
time with teachers, but online schools can be a great way to educate the children of tomorrow
because it allows for students in rural areas to get the same education as somebody in the city and the
flexible nature of online school allows students to have more time to be with their family, friends and
to do the activities they love.
One of the great things about online education is that it gives students in rural areas the same
education as those in large urban areas. This is because of many things but most importantly it is
because online systems allow for more courses then a small town would be able to provide (Orgill,
Jason, and Douglas Hervey). Having more courses is important because it gives students the
opportunity to take deep dives into areas that they are very interested in. This is an opportunity that
many students that live in rural areas don't get because there school simply does not have enough
students to provide those courses. Giving students in rural areas the same course opportunities as
those in urban areas is just one of the reasons online education is so important.
Another great thing about online education is that allows student athletes to have enough time
with their families while also putting huge amounts of time into training and school. The reason
athletes get the time they need is because at an online school "you work at your own pace" And
on your own schedule (Snyder, Tom). I know from personal experience being a student athlete in
a brick and mortar school is difficult. You wake up early try and finish your homework, then go
directly to school. Then after school you go to training and then more training then maybe you go
to the gym and then finally you get home and you are so tired you just fall into bed. This is really
tough because you get hardly any time to spend with your family and friend. In an online school
system you can do your work wherever you are and whenever you have time. This

Online learning is definitely one of the newest and fastest moving industries; more and more students
are opting to getting their degree this way instead of going to a land college, mostly due to the
convenience of the schedule, where before a full time employee, could not fit schooling into their

are utilizing this alternative way of achieving their higher education. Yet, the online environment is

implement online classes into their traditional teaching curriculum. As a result, our society is
divided in two different ways of thinking on the education. Some believe the modern method is
better than the traditional method of teaching. Personally, I believe both methods should balance one

far more successful.

According to Barbara Means, the study's lead author and an educational psychologist at SRI
International, online education ultimate goal, is to provide learning experiences that are more
tailored to individual students than is possible in classrooms. That enables more "learning by doing,"
which many students find more engaging and useful.
However, advocates of classroom learning believe the online method isolates the students from one
another as well as their professor minimizing the overall value of taking the course. They also claim
that students learn better when working together with their instructor and their fellow classmates.
Students learn better when they are given the opportunity to ask questions, join in class discussions,
and they move the process of learning forward through their participation. Face–to–face advocates
firmly believe that this kind of interaction is not possible over the Internet; and for many types of
education, e–learning will never meet the potential of live human interaction in the classroom. An
article in the New York Times titled, "Second Thoughts on Online Education," backs up the points
made above. A recent research published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, comes to
the conclusion; "A rush to online education

education was achieved through written forms of paper with pen or pencil. The use of pen and

means of attaining education are changing. The introduction of information technology has brought

issues that have emerged in parallel with the emerging e–learning facilities (Alan 2007; Rosenberg
2001). The e–learning approach places the burden on both students and teachers to create a learning
environment where a diversified student population feels comfortable and relaxed. The language,
cultural and social differences should not pose as a hurdle in the learning process of the diversified
students' list. Since the e–learning environment provides a virtual classroom environment, it
becomes difficult to judge the confidence level, practical working abilities and enhancing practical
knowledge of the students. It, thus, it becomes an important factor to be analyzed while opting for
this kind of education. E–learning affects the learning pace of students as it provides a virtual
classroom environment which is less effective for a number of educational areas. Some areas that
require face–to–face interaction and on–campus practical demonstrations involve nursing,
psychology, and teaching. Hence, professional issues involving those

There is little doubt that a more extensive on–line education system would benefit extremely
overcrowded campuses like Cal State Northridge. Although short–term costs may deter colleges from

With the technology available, universities should make more efforts to offer more on–line classes.
Distance learning is becoming more and more prevalent across campuses and is likely to continue to

material in support of this increasing phenomenon.
Distance learning is taught in several ways. Originally, distance, or "Independent...show more

Opponents stress the value of the traditional classroom educational approach and argue the lack of
teacher–student interaction in the virtual setting.
There are several reported disadvantages to the on–line approach. "Ostendorf, in an informal study of

Online Education: Explanatory Essay Every year and every decade colleges change. Courses and
requirements all change over the years. One thing that has changed over the years is online
education. Online education was not always a part of colleges and courses but over time it has
developed and has become part of the current college education. But what is online education? The
article "Online Education. Opposing Viewpoints Online Collection" said it best. "Online education,
also called distance learning, offers students the chance to take college courses via the Internet"

There are many benefits with online education. Not having to go to class everyday can be
beneficial to students. Many students have busy schedules such as full time jobs or have children
to take care of, and being able to take classes from home and not having to find a babysitter is
extremely helpful. Along with being able to take classes from home, online education also offers
education to people who do not have the luxury of going to college. As the article "Online

Argumentative Essay On Online Education
Online education is a form of education which is administered and developed through the internet.
The transition from Classroom education to online education has been accepted widely by many
countries. It is one of the upcoming trends in education sectors all around the World. With improved
technologies, it has become easier to learn.
As to every topic, there co–exist both supporting and denying arguments in this regard. Online
education can be possible anywhere with a mobile, Laptop, Desktop or tab. Just having a stable
internet could get you anywhere like getting lectured by a professor from Stanford or MIT. Online
education is possible nowadays even for free through websites like Edx, Coursera etc., Online
education is like an ocean, no matter how much we learn there will be more. Access is one of the
happening things from Online education. The opportunity cost of Online education is very high.
The time we spend travelling through these busy roads is cut down entirely. The cost we bear on
books, travelling, uniforms, etc., is cut down drastically. Flexible schedules are possible. Online
learning creates the ability to study whenever and wherever. Also, it creates flexibility to study
around family obligations.
Money, Time and Values are important for any living being. While we see that trends are changing,
people tend to claim moral values are deteriorating. In some way, most of us want to form loving
families, raise our children to be good citizens, stand up for the downtrodden and protect our
communities from harm. We still form friendships, business partnerships based on old–fashioned
criteria. When our trust is abused or we are unfairly treated, we see that as a major violation of our
relationship and we judge the wrongdoer accordingly. Though online education does not provide a
mentor like the classroom–based education does, people still inculcate values through the beautiful
curriculum and courses such as right life, Happiness, positive living etc.,

The Importance Of Online Education
Online education is becoming more popular along recent generations, even at public universities
for many positive reasons. My online learning experience has positively impacted my education
by allowing opportunities such as employment to take place while earning my degree in hopes to
limit debt, as well as making it easier to become more actively engaged in the online classroom,
and by teaching the technological skills that can be used in other areas of life, such as a career
choice or everyday tasks.
Online education has been widely spread among universities, allowing students a different way of
learning. According to the info graphic, 5.8 million students are online students, including me. This
statistic reveals how popular online education has been in recent decades (Info graphic). 75% of
those students are undergraduates that are 25 and older, demonstrating that maybe these students
work full time jobs, or are taking internships leading up to their graduation. College was something
that I was scared to face, since the financial burden would have been thousands of dollars. However,
by having online education, I can have access to the same information that a student attending a
campus would have, also having the possibility of working to avoid debt. By having online

Advantages of Online Education
Is online education a valuable innovation that improves opportunities for students or is it a poor
substitute for traditional, classroom–based teaching? It has long been recognized that students and

contemporary world. Online education is becoming popular, but some people raise questions about
its effectiveness in comparison to traditional learning. While teachers will always be involved in the

Feedback, often with grading capabilities and tips for improvement, is built in and can be received in
an extremely fast turnaround. Instructors just simply cannot deliver this high–speed response
because they have to deal with each student's work consecutively and they are subject to the
limitations of needing to eat, sleep and have a private life as well as being professional teachers.
The internet is always available; except in rare cases of technical failure, and is always reliably
fast in its response. From a teaching perspective, online learning also provides economies of time
usage. Instead of delivering information every year to each new cohort of students, the teacher
supervising online learning only has to provide the main material once. Thereafter, the job of the
teacher is to keep the material up to date, as well as to monitor and support students as they learn.
This system is a far more effective use of time, and allows the teacher to achieve a much greater
effectiveness with less repetition of tasks. Student participation and performance can be logged by
the computer system, thus removing the need for time–consuming administration. Another
advantage of online education is flexibility in content and supplementary support. Teaching in a
classroom usually operates to a defined curriculum with fixed content and clear goals.

Online Education : An Effective Way For Students
Online education has been proven to be an effective way for students to finish their college career.
Since online education started, students who decide to take online courses have now many
opportunities to finish their career without having to be on campus. Online education gives students
who have a very tight schedule the opportunity to take classes online without having to worry about
being on a classroom. Students who usually take courses online tend to think that it can be easier,
rather than being face–to–face with an instructor on a classroom. Although students have the great
opportunity to take courses online, they also face many issues while taking courses online. One of
those issues is that many students face is that they do not have the same face to face learning style as
those on campus. It has become clearer that although students have many opportunities while taking
courses online, they can also have issues because of the type of teaching some students receive.
Comparatively online education and face–to–face learning are both very effective. They both give
student the ability to study and to finish education. Student who usually have face–to–face learning
know that it is very helpful for them since instructions are given by instructors in person, and
students who have online courses have almost the same opportunity with the exception that they
have to see instruction online. Most of the time when students do not have the type of learning

decision to attend school online is made. The online student must be able to balance school, work,
and a family. Attending school at a traditional school is not as flexible as the time...show more

There will not be a "reminder" from the instructor on a daily basis whether the student is
participating in the discussion group or if the student has completed an assignment. "Online learning
can be more convenient, effective and rewarding than traditional classes, but convenience doesn't
mean it's easier," says Gwen Hillesheim, interim chief academic officer and provost of Colorado
Technical University, a leading provider of education for career–motivated students. "Successful
online students need to be proactive in their studies and take responsibility for their own learning. It
takes self–discipline and time management to do your best. But when the student is engaged, the
learning can be significant and the experience fulfilling." ARA, (2010, November 3, Creston News
Advertiser). Online students must comply with the University participation requirements in order to
succeed. Self–discipline is required as it is solely up to the student to log in each day and participate
in class. Unlike traditional classrooms where the schedule is set and students are reminded by staff
daily to participate; the University notifies online students that do not make the required
participation requirements after they have failed to do so.
Most individuals that opt to attend school online are returning to school to complete a college
degree. Usually this option is chosen due to work schedule as well as time with the family. Online

Essay Online Education

  • 1. Online Education and Face to Face Education Online education (also known as e–learning) is gathering momentum across all universities, all disciplines and across all age groups of university students. Online education can be defined as technology–based learning in which learning materials are delivered electronically to remote learners via a computer network. A recent survey by Babson College [1] indicates in Fall 2014, 28% of students in U.S. were enrolled in a minimum of one online course. This is 3.7% higher from the earlier year. This rising popularity can be attributed to many factor including (a) The rise of technology and visualization tools to enhance the educational experience of students (b) The demands from working professional for them to have flexibility in taking courses at any time so that they can strike a balance between their educational goals and professional and personal lives [2] (c) The rising tuition costs in face to face courses (d) The lack of classroom infrastructure in the universities to accommodate high enrollment and more students in the campus (e) Learning at a pace that is appropriate to the students skillset and (f) freedom for those who are overwhelmed or feel stressful in the classroom environment. This increasing popularity often translates to another question: Can online education replace face to face education, in the coming years? My position on this, is that the face to face learning is more effective, highly impactful, it has Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Online Vs. Online Education Introduction The biggest and the most powerful thing in the world today is education. Education is one of the most dynamic things we do because its not just when its how. Education has streamlined the way we do basic functions, it opens your mind to the world. This has led to the biggest shift of all from the traditional classes to online classes. Traditional class is simply showing up to school every day hearing a lecture whole time with minimal student participation if the instructor does. Not encourage it. Most of us are better learners this way. Let's take online classes no more class room instruction its reading articles, discussions, videos, and even just you replying to something someone said. In the essay we will have a comparison and contrast between online classes and traditional classes allowing us to open the door as to which of the two is better. This will involve percent of people online vs traditional, social interaction, and flexibility to find out what benefits the students the best way. Precent of students online vs traditional "On line instruction has been growing at a fast pace over the last decade. In 2002 a total of 1,602,970 students in higher education took at least one course online. By 2011 6,714,792 students took one or more online classes. This changes amounts to an increase of 318.9%, or a 4.189 to one ratio." (Allen & Seaman, 2013). Looking at the data we can see from the article it is very evident that more and more people Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Tradition Schooling Vs Online School Sitting alone and staring at a computer all day sounds like the worst possible way to gain an education. Traditional schooling is better than online schooling because the students are able to gain social skills, they will be prepared for when they graduate and get a job, public schooling gives children more independence. There is a reason that traditional schools have survived all of these years and that is because it is better for the student. Some would say online schooling is better because the student do not have to keep track of their school work. ВЁOnline schooling might be better for some students because of the more laid back scheduling but when dealing with online schooling the student has to be able to keep up on their work, some will just not do the work because they are comfortable at home. ВЁ ( Erstad). However traditional schooling is better because the student is able to get one on one help, and they are able to socialize also. Traditional schooling helps kids gain social skills, ВЁ Traditional schools can help students interact with diverse people to help you get ready for the real worldВЁ (Dalien). They learn how to make friends at an early age, and they have face to face communication all day. Most importantly is group projects, class discussions about topics that are being learned in the classroom. Even though some students may not participate in the group discussions or talk in class they can still see how to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Argumentative Essay On Online Education Infographic In my Infographic, my main claim is still same as the argument I proposed in the Paper 3 which is that online education is beneficial to students and the community. In the headline page, I used dark gray as my background color because I want to give my audience a sense of elegant and solemn feeling when they look on the topic of education. Even though my headline is so simple and just uses two words "Online Education," I employed elaborate design around it. First, I highlighted "Online" with yellow, which would give my audience a direct impression about the emphasis of this topic. Also, the mouse and pencil next to the headline as well as the picture on both sides of the headline crate a vivid image of online courses in the audience's mind before they read the following information. Furthermore, I believe the subtitle just beneath the headline would be persuasive to most of my audience because I used a strong tone in this sentence which said online courses is "the easiest way to learn anything." While some of my audience might doubt this, it also stimulates their interest to read the following information. After the headline, I divided my argument of online education into three sections. In the first part, I talk about the development of online courses. And I use MOOCs as a representative of the growth and improvement of online courses because it was the most popular, wide–used, and recognizable form of online education in recent years. • 5. Online Education Online Education Education is an important part of people's lives; it will either make them or break them in the future depending on the careers they choose. Education is greatly diverse today in comparison to the 1950s because of advancements in teaching and other great inventions that provide easier techniques of teaching. One major issue that has been raised is distant learning courses and online education. Distant learning could be any format from VHS videos, DVDs, or internet courses online. Online education has been legal since 1993 and is a new way of teaching students of all ages. Online education has been gaining popularity through out the years because of the ease of the internet. The internet has made it easier for people to...show more content... For example, a child of a farmer can help the family out in the morning with the farming chores then go to an online class later on. Rural kids may also take additional educational classes online that their school does not provide. Children in the movie industry may also take online courses to keep up with their studies while on the road filming movies. Hillary Duff takes online course while she films. As the price of education continues to rise, the rate of students applying for online educational classes will continue to get greater. The price for a unit at Long Beach City College is $26 and the price per unit will continue to rise as long as there is a deficit in California's budget. Online courses provide a cheaper alternative for schools that have a problem with their budget and actual classroom space. Teachers can also record themselves and the student can download the film if they miss the session. This gives a student the chance to catch up on a class session if he missed out on that day. In 2002, 12 of the 55 National Geographic Bees were homeschoolers meaning that courses than at home can provide a great teaching environment. Students do not have to put up with bad influences from regular schooling and help build their own identity without social pressures that traditional schooling may have. Some students may also earn their high school degree faster then their peers. While the pros are stated some cons are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Online Education Essay Online education has grown since it first came about, there are mixed views on whether it is truly beneficial. The reasons for the huge growth of online education is money even though online education targeted working adults that have little or no time to sit in a traditional classroom for millions of men and women serving in the armed forces online education has made earning a degree much more possible. In recent years there have been significant technological growth with this growth technology has changed the way we do a lot of things from communicating to warfare with such influences on society there is no surprise that education feel its wave in researching this topic it seems that in troubled economy online education allows...show more content... But without the securities of the traditional classroom environment cheating has become a big concern in online education aside from cheating the quality of online education is also in question in addressed by article posted Greg Rodriguez which states "the level of effectiveness of educational technology is influenced by this specific student population, the software design that educators role, and the level of access to technology I agree that having a quality program is important but still requires much effort from both student and teachers to ensure success of the online program". This is also true for traditional classrooms the use of online education impacted not only colleges but grade, middle, and high schools alike one of the biggest issues discussed on the topic of online learning is age and maturity an article written by Sam Dillon talks about the use of online learning in elementary and home schools. While I do agree with the statement made by Tracie Weldie, a native from Milwaukee, which home schools her three kids than there is no reason for Isabel to practice counting if she can already add not every child learns at the same rate and this will elevate, concerns the parent might have about their child being challenged to reach their full academic potential. This is an advantage for foreigners who can not speak proper English correctly. Live video and sound can also be done with special equipment for a real time conversation with instructors and peers. Other features on the online courses are the learning aides that can be used while taking the course. Certain programs can be made such as flash cards and games which can increase the learning experience of the student. These learning aides can be done on the student's time and does not require the teacher to be there. Time for a face to face class is very difficult if a person works 40 hours a week but an online course can put an ease on the time restriction because the person does the work at their own pace and time. It is also easier to sign up for an online class than a class at a college. Message boards are in use if the students need to leave a question or a comment about the subject their on. They also save time by not traveling to the college and trying to find a parking space. Rural areas where students have to travel a great distance to get to class can save time and money by doing online classes. For example, a child of a farmer can help the family out in the morning with the farming chores then go to an online class later on. • 8. Benefits Of Online Learning Benefit Essay In this globalised world, technology has been an important part of our society and our foreseeable future. Online learning is believed to be one of the upcoming trends in the education sectors all over the world as today's world has become a borderless world. Consequently, online learning will be a better learning method in the future. This is because online learning can be done as long as there have internet connection. However, does online learning greatly benefits students? From my point of view, I partially agree that online learning greatly benefits students. This is because although online learning has benefits such as convenience, promotes self–access interactive learning and develop self–discipline to students, online learning also...show more content... Online learning has limited social interaction. This is because limited opportunities are provided for students to interact face–to–face to professors and other students. Students may also have to face the problem like they have to wait for hours for reply of professors to questions. This is because professors are not always online. The professors may have their personal time to do their own things. Apart from that, students are difficult to develop relationships with classmates when study online. This is because students do not have the social interaction with their classmates. Hence, online learning is a better choice for a shy person as they no need to worry about interacting with other students. However, students will lose chance to have the opportunity to interact face to face with their classmates or even work as teamwork with their classmates which can be helpful for their study purposes when they study online. Through teamwork, students can learn the importance of cooperation as according to Aristotle, "Man is by nature a social animal." Man's nature is such that he cannot afford to live alone. No human being is known to have normally developed in isolation. Online learning cannot provide the opportunity for students to learn about cooperation. This is because most of the communications are through e–mail, chat room or discussion groups, but no offline get–together. Thus, online learning Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Essay On Online Education Online education is helping many students get a better education. This can be for many reasons. Some reasons could include things like a more flexible schedule. Of course their are some that believe that online schools are not a good option because they do not offer students face to face time with teachers, but online schools can be a great way to educate the children of tomorrow because it allows for students in rural areas to get the same education as somebody in the city and the flexible nature of online school allows students to have more time to be with their family, friends and to do the activities they love. One of the great things about online education is that it gives students in rural areas the same education as those in large urban areas. This is because of many things but most importantly it is because online systems allow for more courses then a small town would be able to provide (Orgill, Jason, and Douglas Hervey). Having more courses is important because it gives students the opportunity to take deep dives into areas that they are very interested in. This is an opportunity that many students that live in rural areas don't get because there school simply does not have enough students to provide those courses. Giving students in rural areas the same course opportunities as those in urban areas is just one of the reasons online education is so important. Another great thing about online education is that allows student athletes to have enough time with their families while also putting huge amounts of time into training and school. The reason athletes get the time they need is because at an online school "you work at your own pace" And on your own schedule (Snyder, Tom). I know from personal experience being a student athlete in a brick and mortar school is difficult. You wake up early try and finish your homework, then go directly to school. Then after school you go to training and then more training then maybe you go to the gym and then finally you get home and you are so tired you just fall into bed. This is really tough because you get hardly any time to spend with your family and friend. In an online school system you can do your work wherever you are and whenever you have time. • 10. Online Education Essay Online Education Online learning is definitely one of the newest and fastest moving industries; more and more students are opting to getting their degree this way instead of going to a land college, mostly due to the convenience of the schedule, where before a full time employee, could not fit schooling into their schedule, but they are finding out now that they can do this through the online environment, so they are utilizing this alternative way of achieving their higher education. Yet, the online environment is unlike the land college, because there is no face to face contact, so the University of Phoenix tries to make the experience as realistic as it can by: 1) providing a rEsource for the students to go to for their writing...show more content... The class information is in the center of the page but the resources are located to the left of the page. A student has several different selections to cover which ever need they may have, 'Center for Writing Excellence', 'Required Writing Materials', 'University Library', 'Proficiency Assessment', and 'Learning Team Tools'. There are also two other sections, 'For Your Program', which provides the student with their course outline, as well as software offers and downloads to help the student meet the online requirements, and then it has a В‘Resource Information' section, which provides the student with Tutorials and a help section, where the student can go to get help on their project. The most important fact about rEsource is that it is only as valuable as the student wants it to be. The key to rEsource, is that for the student to gain the benefits that it will provides the student, they just need to utilize it. The Value of Learning Teams In our working atmosphere, we are all a part of a team, trying to work together and achieve the goal of our business or department. The University of Phoenix seems to understand that this is not a simple thing, there are many obstacles, such as diversity and it can deter individuals in working collectively together, and they have each student join a team as part of the class requirements. • 12. With high speed internet available to potential students of all economic levels, schools are opting to implement online classes into their traditional teaching curriculum. As a result, our society is divided in two different ways of thinking on the education. Some believe the modern method is better than the traditional method of teaching. Personally, I believe both methods should balance one another instead of attempting to substitute one another; this way their purpose of educating will be far more successful. Online education, also called long distant learning, can be defined as a new method of learning through a computer network. This modern way of teaching gives students an opportunity to take classes online. Bill Gates...show more content... According to Barbara Means, the study's lead author and an educational psychologist at SRI International, online education ultimate goal, is to provide learning experiences that are more tailored to individual students than is possible in classrooms. That enables more "learning by doing," which many students find more engaging and useful. However, advocates of classroom learning believe the online method isolates the students from one another as well as their professor minimizing the overall value of taking the course. They also claim that students learn better when working together with their instructor and their fellow classmates. Students learn better when they are given the opportunity to ask questions, join in class discussions, and they move the process of learning forward through their participation. Individuals can access the internet and enroll in courses through which they can gain knowledge. The ease of access to educational resources has improved the overall learning environment. The e–learning approach places the burden on both students and teachers to create a learning environment where a diversified student population feels comfortable and relaxed. The language, cultural and social differences should not pose as a hurdle in the learning process of the diversified students' list. Since the e–learning environment provides a virtual classroom environment, it becomes difficult to judge the confidence level, practical working abilities and enhancing practical knowledge of the students. It, thus, it becomes an important factor to be analyzed while opting for this kind of education. There are several reported disadvantages to the on–line approach. "Ostendorf, in an informal study of 12 distance education courses at New Mexico State University, found that instructors devoted only 2.85 minutes out of every 50 minutes of class time to interaction" (Lesniak). In many courses, there is no interaction with staff members. Assignments are posted on the class web site or sent through email and students learn strictly from reading on–line instruction. Instead of delivering information every year to each new cohort of students, the teacher supervising online learning only has to provide the main material once. Thereafter, the job of the teacher is to keep the material up to date, as well as to monitor and support students as they learn. This system is a far more effective use of time, and allows the teacher to achieve a much greater effectiveness with less repetition of tasks.
