City Year Cleveland was selected to receive $250,000 from AT&T as one of 18 recipients nationwide sharing $10 million in funding. City Year Cleveland works in three underserved Cleveland high schools to help over 800 students each year stay in school and prepare for their next steps. The funding will support AmeriCorps members working directly with students to increase graduation rates. AT&T provides the funding as part of its Aspire initiative focused on helping underserved students succeed through mentoring, career/college preparation, and integrated student support programs.
