2. LOCATION ONE: COLLEGE
• Appropriate every day setting. Realistic setting, nothing
has to be added therefore it will not come across as being
artificial and fake which is what we are trying to avoid.
• Easy access. As we are already students there we can use
the area and resources available.
• Crowded place, can easily film aspects of our trailer.
• College lecturers are more than happy to help and even
take part. We can utilise them so they can play the role of
the concerned teacher within our trailer.
• Within college there is also toilet facilities. This means
we can use the place to film our mirror distortion which
is a common theme within psychological thrillers.
3. LOCATION TWO: MAIN ROAD
• There is a long stretch of road which leaves of plenty of
time and space to film.
• There isn’t a lot in the surrounding area. This can help
convey the feeling of isolation which we are trying to
convey within our trailer.
• Due to it being isolated and quite a long stretch of road it
will be easier to convey the idea of someone following
our main character.
• Due to their being woods on the verge of the main road
this could come across as quite eerie which will help set
the scene within our trailer.
• Due to it being a long stretch of road it leaves us plenty
of time to get different shots and angles when filming.
4. LOCATION THREE: WOODS
• The location of woods is present in a vast amount of psychological
thrillers at one point within the film, using the woods allows our
trailer to fit into that genre of film easily and allowing the audience
to pick up on this.
• The woods can come across spooky and freaky, particularly at night
which would be ideal for filming.
• Easy to convey the feeling of being alone with big shrubs and trees
over powering you.
• Due to it being outside this means easy access, we can go there as we
please allowing us more filming time.
• Due to it being outside there will be natural lighting which can
result in it being odd, which would be great in some scenes.
• Using the woods will also tie in really well with our stalker scene as
well as the scene where the main character has a break down and
lets everything out. Due to it being secluded we can easily shout and
act without alarming anyone or disturbing anyone.
5. LOCATION FOUR: HOME
ENVIROMENT
• Due to it being one of our homes this means easy access.
• It also means that we can act as we want, scream shout etc
without disturbing anyone.
• Realistic environment as the home is already lived in.
• The scenery is already present. The room is lived in and has
all the props necessary to convey that it is realistic. If the
room didn’t have the furniture and wasn’t lived in we would
have to bring all the other props in ourselves and set it up to
look realistic. This could have easily come off as fake and
artificial which is what we want to avoid. We want ours to be
as real as possible to give the full frightening affect as it could
genuinely take place in day to day life.
• By filming in the home environment we can easily film the
mirror distortion scene as we have plenty time to get filming
right but also costume and fake blood.
