2. The First Aid Kit Case and
Guide

I chose this box to hold my
First Aid Kit essentials. It is an
organized case made of durable
plastic.

I included a Johnson &
Johnson Red Cross First Aid
Guide in my First Aid Kit. This
guide shows how to treat
various ailments, and how to
handle emergency situations
(wound care, heat exhaustion,
stings, bleeding, shock, burns,
etc.)

3. Ointments and Medicines

Just a few of the ointments and medicines that I
included in my kit:





Dr. Sheffield’s Anti-Itch Cream- It is a topical
analgesic and skin protectant. It provides Ban-Itch
Histamine Blocking Relief from poison ivy, poison
oak, poison sumac, and insect bites. One tube of
this was added to my First Aid Kit.
Dr. Sheffield’s Triple Antibiotic Ointment- It is a
First Aid antibiotic ointment. It is used for
prevention of infection from minor cuts, scrapes,
and burns. A tube of this product was put in my
First Aid Kit.
Neosporin- This is another antibiotic ointment that
prevents infection from minor cuts, scrapes, and
burns. There are two individual packets included in
my First Aid Kit.
Aspirin- It is a pain reliever and fever reducer used
to relieve headaches, muscle pain, menstrual pain,
toothaches, and pain and fever from colds. A
bottle of Aspirin with 100 coated tablets was
placed in my kit.
Tylenol- It is another pain reliever and fever
reducer used to relieve headaches, backaches,
muscle aches, menstrual cramps, and the
common cold. A tube of 10 caplets was added to
my kit.

4. Urgent RX Fast Powders

I added a few Urgent RX Fast Powders to
my First Aid Kit that offer instant relief, and
they do not have to be taken with liquids.
You just pour them directly into your mouth.




4 packets of Allergy Attack Relief To-GoThis is an antihistamine that relieves runny
nose, sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, and
itching of the nose and throat.
2 packets of Critical Care Aspirin To-GoThis is a pain reliever for headaches,
muscle pain, menstrual cramps,
toothaches, and pain and fever from a cold.
2 packets of Ache & Pain Relief To-Go-It
contains the pain reliever Aspirin and the
adjuvant Caffeine. This relieves muscle
pain, headaches, pain from arthritis, and
pain and fever of colds.
1 packet of Upset Stomach Relief To-GoThis is an upset stomach reliever and an
anti-diarrheal. It relievers traveler’s
diarrhea, upset stomach, heartburn,
indigestion, nausea, gas, belching, and
fullness.

5. Wipes



8 CVS Pharmacy individually
packaged Alcohol Prep Swabs with
Pain Relief- These swabs contain the
topical anesthetic Benzocaine and the
antiseptic Isopropyl Alcohol. The
swabs are used for the relief of pain
and itching of minor burns, sunburn,
insect bites, minor skin irritations, and
for preparation of the skin before an
injection.
5 Johnson & Johnson Hand Cleansing
Wipes- These are used to clean hands
to prevent contamination, and help
remove dirt from hands.
1 Johnson and Johnson containerThis container is used to store swabs,
wipes, and band-aids to allow for
proper organization in my kit.

6. Band-Aids

I included various
Band-Aid bandages in
my kit. The bandages
range from different
sizes (small to large),
and offer both Sheer
Strips and Flexible
Fabric.

7. Gauze, Tape, and Gloves





Pads- These pads are for all-purpose
dressings, and they are used to prep, clean,
wipe, absorb, and help protect injuries and
wounds.
1 Curad sterile Rolled Gauze- This gauze is
used for hard to wrap areas. It secures and
protects a dressing without restricting
movements.
1 Johnson & Johnson Red Cross Paper
Tape- This tape can be used for various
reasons, such as, fastening gauzes or
dressings. This tape can be used without
scissors.
1 pair of Nitrile Patient Examination GlovesThese gloves are non-sterile, and are for a
single use only. They can be used to
prevent further contamination and infections
of injuries or wounds.

8. Coolers and Warmers


1 Johnson & Johnson
Coach Instant Cold PackThis can be used on many
body surfaces that need the
application of cold therapy.
2 packages of Hot Hands
Hand Warmers- These are
air-activated warmers that
can warm the hands, feet,
and other parts of the body.

9. Miscellaneous




30 Q-tip Cotton Swabs in an
On-The-Go container- These
swabs are good for applying
ointments to wounds.
1 pair of Trim Slant Tip
Tweezers
1 pair of Fiskars ScissorsThese scissors have a safetyedge blade, and it comes with
a sheath to protect against
unnecessary injuries.
1 ReliOn Digital ThermometerIt can be used for oral,
underarm, or rectal use. It also
comes with a storage case.

10. 
Here are a few scenarios in which my First Aid Kit would be handy:



Someone gets stung by a bee- If this happens, I could open my First Aid
Kit and grab the anti-itch cream that works well for insect bites. I could
give them an Aspirin or Tylenol caplet if water is available. If not, I could
use the Urgent RX Fast Powder version of Ache and Pain Relief (which
contains Aspirin), and if they have an allergic reaction give them the
Allergy Attack Relief version.
Someone scrapes a part of their body (knee, arm, etc.)- If this happens, I
could grab some Neosporin, gauze, and tape to stop the infection and
the bleeding. Also, I could give them a pain reliever (Aspirin or Tylenol). I
could use the gloves to stop the spread of infection, and the alcohol
wipes to disinfect the area. I could use the band-aids as well to protect
the wound.
Someone feels like they have a fever- If this happens, I could get out my
thermometer and check their temperature. If they do have a fever, I
could give them a fever reducer (Aspirin or Tylenol).
