16. POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES
• Rule 1: Verbs follow the subject pronouns.
– I am, You are, We love
• Rule 2: Possessive adjective comes before a noun or an
adjective + noun.
– My sister’s car, her suitcase, his lawyer
• Rule 3: Possessive adjectives are used with singular and
plural nouns.
– His friends or his friend, my boys or my boy
• Rule 4: For an animal or a thing, the possessive
adjective “its” is used, but for a pet, “his” or “her” is
used.
– My fish’s name is Swimmy.
